Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk has outstanding potential however, it's thwarted by silent characters, game-breaking bugs, incomplete control setup/input delays, lackluster dialogue, screw over 'that' character mindset, lack of stealth, broken level/gear system putting the game in 'easy mode' at the hardest difficulty, lack of diversity in weapons, cars, gear and quickhacks plus much more. Also - police are hard-coded to spawn out of your view, so they can spawn literally out of nowhere behind you, making them more powerful than they actually are - completely unrealistic and it's amateur programming, have them roll in with vehicles like GTAV and Saints Row 3 and have the higher-tier units teleport in or something instead of what we have now. I personally don't mind the linear story(having loved games such as Metro), though the story itself relies on the same dynamics for transitioning from one mission to another with the exception of a small few. Going back to bugs, previous versions of the game seem to have ran with fewer bugs than the newer 'patched' versions. Having insight into game development and release schedule. I can tell you, that more or less every single Game Producer is aware of most of bugs before release, yet release a broken game, then patching it quickly into tricker you into thinking that 'they care' and that they're 'in it for the long term' when it's actually all planned from the get-go. Ending on a positive note, the game as I stated already has a lot of potential. The story is good and there is some good character development, the game is open-world to a foot and will keep a person occupied for a short-while. It would be nice to see the 'increased' difficulties affecting the story in terms of the sheer amount of chaos. To sum it up, do not buy this yet, it's been outright removed from stores for good reasons.

The graphics and idea are excellent, but the game is simpy not finished and on early access state. The UI and controls are clunky, and the AI is non existant. The physics are rough. The main story is ok, but isolated and dull because there is no chance to dive into it due to this lack of content. There are no RPG elements, so the genre is incorrect. The only missions are go-there kill-that, so it is a shooter-looter without the fun factor that other games have such as Borderlands. I would not recommend purchasing this game until it is finished.

The inability to respect attributes locks you into a gameplay style. Sure, you can respec perks but your perk selection is limited by your attributes. Not to mention that the total attribute points are capped at 50. This is such an antiquated mechanic and it breaks the game for me. I'll be playing anything else until someone is able to figure out a mod for a workaround.

Writing this review is really hard as the mere 1500 characters don't do it justice. Just like V finds out what Night City's true nature is, I find myself strangely in the same position coming off the high that this game has generated for me over the past 8 years. And man, that is a hard pill to swallow. Cyberpunk 2077 is a beautifully crafted but broken game, it's an amazing experience as a whole if you can ignore the faults through the cracks. It can be immersive at times with emotional character and story moments but downright horrendous in open world with all it's flaws and glitches. After spending a good 80 hours on PC (finished main and all sidequests) it definitely feels like the result of poor management and bad decisions. A lot of content that was promised and would have added to the immersion of this city was left out (transit system, more polished cop, citizen and traffic AI, car and body modifications, more openable doors with more daily activities, mini games and I can go on). All that's left is a shell of a game that just barely feasible, just enought to give you a taste of what the creators wanted you to experience; and the worst part is that you know it could've been so much better with more time but the reality is just that it's not there (yet). Now I know creating such a game is huge undertaking but they've bit more than they can chew. It was ambitious and they didn't manage the expectations at all and as a tester myself it's really painful to see this level of quality control. It really would have been so much better if it was what it was but in a really polished state but unfortunately that is lacking as well. It's really hard to get immersed when there's glitches in the middle of the most important mission cutscenes! At the end of the day, recommending this game is hard and it greatly depends on what you hope to get from it. Just like Night City: it can be a wonderful ride with amazing moments or a horrible braindance where you glitch out.

Your management is not able to formulate an open message to a very large, disappointed community. Pretending that nothing has happened harms your image with every day that your boss refuses to openly discuss what is wrong with your game. Wake UP! Dear CDP... This is what happens when you release unfinished games. A huge disappointment for many fans and my condolences to the developers. Of course I keep my fingers crossed that you will bring this project to completion, but it is currently hard to believe that this will happen with the release of the next and subsequent patches. Time will tell...
