Cyberpunk 2077

The game may be broken and buggy but how many games let you put a pp in a female character. In a serious note, this game has more character than any other rpg AAA rpg out there right now. The story alone delivers a very powerful message and the combat is responsive and feels good. Plus the hacking is amazing, The cons do not outweigh the pros.

I started playing with mixed expectations after reading some negative reviews. A few minutes in-game and I can ignore the mouse lag which makes hitting enemies hard and some small bugs which you find in every other game too. This world! You can almost touch it! Amazing uncommon architecture in the different areas, market places, automated car rides which I don't skip just to have a moment to enjoy the scene. Then there is the story. Where Watch Dogs 2 had revealed almost the whole story and all jokes in the 2-minutes trailer, Cyberpunk did not even get started and is a constant alternation between “ohh, I see what is coming next” and “wait WHAT JUST HAPPENED???”. There are some generic jobs (get rid of gang members here and there for some creds), but there are so many unique NPC stories, sometimes connected to each other, that also make side quests feel alive. And there is much more with hacking, weapon mods, crafting skills, the level-up system, …

I haven't played the game right after release, but now, 8 months later I've invested over 60 hours into the game and I'm still having a blast! Don't listen to the haters, the game is one of the best RPG's out there, and the unique universe sets it apart from others in the best possible way. The world building, the story, the characters are all incredibly well done, I haven't played a game with this level of immersion before. It's just on a whole different level, I'm in love with the game and the characters. The graphics, music, sounds are all incredible too, but nobody needs a review to see that. :) The game is not perfect, there's still a lot of technical issues plaguing it, visual bugs, stupid AI, an overall lack of polish, but at this point it's acceptable considering the scope of the game. I remember only one instance where I had to reload the game because a quest got bugged, and it was just a side gig, nothing big, not bad in 60+ hours of game time. Imo the worst part is the stupid AI, that needs to get fixed asap, it's spoiling the game big time sometimes. However, despite this I think the game is absolutely amazing, one of the best games I have ever played! Well, actually the best RPG I have ever played period. There's a lot of untapped potential too, CDPR needs to continue working on this game, improve the AI, polish stuff, bring in multiplayer and start releasing big DLC's, I'll be happy to pay and pay and pay because it's well deserved. Thank you CDPR team for this incredible experience, I'm looking forward for more!

I'm not sure why Cyberpunk has met such a lukewarm reception. Every aspect of the game is well executed. The core gameplay is invariably entertaining. The graphics are top-notch and the cyberpunk ambience is perfect. It's well optimised and runs extremely well on my modest gaming PC (Ryzen 5, 5700XT, 16GB). Clearly any game like this will have flaws. I personally dislike the lack of a post-game. Also, there should have been more romance options in my opinion. The vehicle physics could be improved and the main story was a bit too 'wordy' for me as well. I've barely encountered any bugs or glitches myself. By contrast, critically-acclaimed Skyrim has been out for 10 years and is still riddled with bugs, some of them serious. Ultimately, for someone like me who regards open-world action RPGs as the pinnacle of gaming, Cyberpunk is absolute gold dust.
