Cyberpunk 2077

After so many years of development, delays, the commentary surrounding the nature of the game's intent, discussion of crunch in the workplace. Did CD Projekt Red strike gold? Well, yes and no. To simply put it - this game is your textbook CDPR RPG; if you were expecting some innovation or raising the bar in the RPG category; eh... In Cyberpunk 2077, set in a dystopian location called Night city - you are V; and how will the people remember your name? Through the choices, and lifestyle you cruising throughout the game. The game's overall location is massive; it's not Witcher 3 massive - but it sure as heck feels like that - there is so much to do and so little time to do it. That is if you can micro-manage the game proper. The voice acting, writing; basically everything you love in a CDPR RPG is here. What you will not like is a lot of techincal issues ranging from FPS issues, to missing textures & meshes, pop-ins; lip-sync issues, etc. The list can litereally go on and on. I didn't encounter any gamebreaking issues but the issues are there, and they are listed; please really read the info on what is bug'd out and what is glitchy because you may or may not run into it later on. The biggest achievement though is Night city itself. I know every freaking door is not open; but my gosh does the city have the charm, the feel, the uniqueness; so many potentials that could've been done ah well. Finally, and this is for the LGBT gamer who is looking to grab this game. The representation in this game is - odd; like it's there and not there. And/or handled in such a odd fashion. Definitely check out LGBT critics opinions if you are factoring that; if this is a dystopian future all parts of society should be affected. Period. No exceptions and i'm sorry if this part of the review makes you squirm but it needs to be made mentioned. Overall for the asking price of $60. It's finally here. I cant' wait for what the future lies with the game.

I'm thoroughly enjoying my time in night city, sure the bugs are abundent but so far they haven't detracted from the experience for me. If witcher 3 is anything to go by, I'm sure this will be a masterpiece after the devs have fixed most of the bugs and added some cool DLC.

If you want to go to a pachinco parlor and play pachinco, this is not the game for you. If you want to walk down the street, paying every single joytoy around to have it on with you, this is not the game for you. If you want to walk up to a random hotdog vendor and buy a hotdog, this is not the game for you. If that type of immersion matters to you, do not pick up this game. If none of that matters to you, because that's not what you do with the what limited time you have off, then give the game a shot. (But the people complaining that there's only one set of joytoys haven't played much, is all I'll say) Cons -Broken. A lot of it is, but I still don't take a star off for this. You're on gog, you're on pc, as was I. I never experienced a game breaking, or quest breaking problems. Can't speak for other platforms, so I won't. Speaks to myself as a reviewer that I don't care about how glitchy a thing is, as long as my desired experience isn't impaceted, but if a seamless experience is what you want, I can't reccomend. -Customization. Lack of transmog or post character adjustment sucks. Take your time in the character creator. Not taking a star off for this because eventually I tracked down gear that gave me what I wanted and looked good at the same time. -Accessibility. This is where the game lost the star. The accessibilty options, or the lack there of impacted my experience to enough of a degree to warrant this. Mods fixed my problems, but that's not what I'm reviewing. Pros -Literally everything else, for me. -People complain about the lifepath, my experience was positive. -People say the loot is uninspiried, it wasn't until 75 hours in that I stopped finding things to hunt down that I wanted. Cyberware is diverse. Legendary quickhacks are insane. Iconic weapons are worth the time to acquire them. -People complain about the characters and the plot, I enjoyed literally everything thrown at me. Didn't have a single side quest that didn't interest me. I want more.

Look the game in its current state isn't ready for prime time, I wish the devs were given more time before release but I can see the future for this game will be amazing just keep on updating it and I'll be sure to play this for years to come. PS it is visually a true masterpeice great job on the art direction guys

This Game is a narrative masterpiece. It takes up the philosophical question: What is the core of being a human. It dragged me into the world and bound me to its characters. This was done with excellent storywriting and even better (German) localization. In fact, the best (German) localization ever done in a computer game - zero mistakes. Levelling missions are a little too easy - can be solved quite easily and are repetitive. Racing missions could have been more (I liked it :-)) - The brawling missions, I left out - not my style. Story-missions (also side missions) are great, really taking up serious topics and confront the player with decisions that are not to be categorized with "good" or "evil"... really a game for adults. The decisions in the game really mirror the player's intention and reflect them in the game world. This is quite rewarding. The Gameworld presentation is fantastic and immersive. For me personally, the story, the characters and the game world are most important. The mechanics, the "keyboard action" and that stuff is not. Technically, it is true, that it needs really strong hardware to play in 4K. The bugs are not disturbing the game experience, but get a little bit on my nerve (little bit at least!) So, I do absolutely recommend this game. It is a masterpiece - maybe a little bit behind the Witcher 3. For me personally as a player who loves open world games, CDPR is the studio with the highest potential and I'm curious about the next project.
