Great game
Love the game, been playing the game on and off since 2017. Enjoyable fantasy roguelike As for steam mods... even though I also have a steam version I have never installed mods... really don't care about them. As for the devs they had the decency to move my humble bundle copy form there to gog when they stopped supporting HB. So no problems there :)

The best of roguelikes
(I own the Steam version with 70 hours currently) Many games these days try to consider themselves roguelikes, but none really stand up to the classic definition of the genre. Caves of Qud exceeds all expectations and transcends beyond the classics. It has so much story involved with every character and every inch of the procedurally generated world that even the silliest of books are worth reading. In addition to lovely writing, it has just has much interaction with various game elements that you'd expect after playing classics like Nethack. Yes your fireball can cause steam if it hits that river and yes that steam will do damage to you. With all of the continuous updates, this game is 100% worth whatever price tag they put on it, and is especially worth grabbing while it's so cheap on here. Do yourself a favor and go die in this game, a LOT. Live well and drink, friends.

Wonderful!
I do not at all mind the modest graphics, they actually get my imagination flowing. There is sooooo much replayability to this title. Don't get too attached to your first few characters though, the game is brutal to those uneducated in how it works. I highly recommend this game to anyone that likes roguelikes, survival games, and lore. :)

Insanity at its best
Caves of Qud. Roguelike turn - and tile-based open world exploration by a single character built by the player. Choose between a Mutated Human with moderate starting attributes, and, surprise surprise, mutations, or a True Kin with access to cybernetics, high starting attributes. bonus skill points on each level and bonus resistance etc. Travel, trade, fight, solve quests, earn experience…upgrade and die, die, a million times. Learn and start over in a randomly generated, exquisitely enigmatic tile based world and find a build that will last longer, each new run, and slowly uncover the mysteries of Qud… And, very important: User Interface, layout and controls (keyboard, but mouse as well) are user friendly and adjustable. A dense concentration of creativity and content that will grab your attention and hold it for hours at a time.
