Fun Reverse Horror

I own the game on a different platform but I have to say that this is the most fun reverse horror game I've every played. The controls are tight and responsive, and the freedom the game gives you makes you feel like that monster in any horror monster flick. My only critique is that it's short and i want more, and I want to learn more about the story of this amorphous creature. Also this game needs a map of some sort as backtracking is very very confusing (at least for me). Other than that this game is worth every penny. The fact that i was able to finish the game says a lot about how much fun I have with it since I played it from beginning to end.

Pretty little lab monster game

I really enjoyed this little game. The monster is cute, moves like this kind of monster would (tentacles galore) The Thing movie style. Funny ways to clear rooms (either full monster, or "stealth" with your powers) A little hint (no spoilers as you'll be using it in game anyway) you can bring bodies with you across some levels... very useful :) Combat can be messy sometimes, and you can easily get lost a bit (no map ingame) but this was fun. Levels are Metroid style, and your powers change according to your size. Don't expect a full background story though. The DLC (Christmas) just brings snow in the background and some lights. Little mission, no new stuff but nice anyway. Short but really fun and enjoyable, i wanted more. Can't wait for a Carrion 2... if it ever happens. Solid find.

Well-made human meatgrinder

This game reminds me of Zombie Night Terror, although it is quite a lot shorter than the former. Still, the feeling of satisfaction you get as you carve through waves of hapless victims is quite good. I don't know why it makes me feel that way, maybe I just don't like humans that much :D The levels are quite mazy and you can easily get lost in them, but thankfully some people made maps which you can easily find online, and these maps are spoiler-free, so if you want to finish the game on your own, you can definitely do so. It would be nice if the game had some sort of a map that you could look at when you're lost, but I don't think it is a big enough issue to make a fuss about. The sound design is absolutely gorgeous. The screams, the sounds you make, the music -- all that adds up to a very immersive experience and lets you truly "live" the game. And I know it's a pixelated graphics game, but it is very well drawn. Not only the movement of the Blob is very well animated and looks extremely smooth and fluid, but if you look closely, you can see that level design and bits of background were also well thought-through. Everything looks very believable and authentic. Overall, a very nice reverse horror puzzle platformer for people that maaybe have a bit of a grudge against humanity :)

Fun, despite the shorter length

I had a blast, even when it was challenging. The lack of a map sometimes sucks. Could be so much more, but I'm very happy it exists. It's better than Butcher in many ways imo, which was made by the same devs.

An unusual, atmospheric puzzle game

I rarely ever enjoy playing puzzle games, especiall if they have a somewhat mazelike aspect to them. But Carrion really makes me want to move through the caverns, connecting me emotionally to my creature via cleverly placed flashback scenes. The way the creature moves and interacts with the game world is very fluid and organic, making it a joy to navigate the tunnels and overcome the various obstacles. The difficulty mainly lies in finding the right solution to an environmental puzzle, rather than battling enemies. Carrion is perfect for people who have a knack for science fiction / horror settings and want to enjoy the atmosphere of a creatures desperately trying to escape the confines of its prison.
