Coming from LucasFilm and Sierra titles I was expecting puzzles and problems to solve. That is not the case. That part of the game is straightforward and not well thought. You don't deal with many items and you seldomly need to go back to a previous place to use one of them. It's pretty linear. I've recently played and reviewed Beneath a Steel Sky and felt the same about it, but many people said Broken Sword was a big step forward. It's not. At least in terms of puzzle quality.
Like someone said in another review, this is more of a visual novel. The art is pretty good and the story is interesting. If you are here looking for that, you may give it a go.
The first time I played this on a demo cd back in that ... time ... you know. I like the plot, the tiwst and the characters. Everything was perfectly set. I bought this game not long ago and yes, it makes "fun".
After a long search for the original game, I finally found it on GOG and ended up purchasing.
However, was very disappointed to find that the original version only downloads as an exe file for Windows so I can't play it on my Mac.

The original game was one of the first games with context sensitive music: turn it on, and feel like a classic adventure movie with conspiracy, secrets, and verbal humor.
The remastered edition is great for those who already played the original, the new puzzles are just acceptable, but the background information about the story is quite nice.
The additional parts from the Director's cut only enhance the gameplay, the game is tense, good voice acting and solid puzzles, would highly recommend this classic adventure game.
