Nice litle game.
It is simple and nice game, like King's Bounty although shorter and simpler. But fun, nonetheless.

ok for the price given I got it on sale
First I am giving it a +1 star wise since I got it on sale. Its a short game and reminds me of some older flash type of games. I was looking for something that was a casual type of game and this fit the bill. It is linear, but the battles do allow a bit of strategy. That being said I felt after about the 10th battle many of the rest followed a similar formula. Also the gear or I should lack of it was a disappointment. I thought there might be more gear and such but was disappointed to have so few items. It also mentions book 1, is this part 1 ?

Not great. Strictly okay.
I played through Braveland, and it just doesn't have much depth at all. It's an okay Heroes of Might and Magic -light clone with none of the strategic depth (okay, let's be honest, no strategic depth), less tactical depth, and a tiny bit of charm. The artwork was cute. The music wasn't terrible. The dialogue was...well, to me, it seemed like they were trying really hard to be witty and clever, and came across stilted or strange, mostly. I don't regret the purchase at 90% off, much, but I kinda wish I'd taken my dollar elsewhere...

Not enough content
This game is fun and cute for what it is, but it's basically the combat of Heroes of Might and Magic with all of the city building/exploration removed. Buy this game if 1. Your kid isn't old enough for HoMM or 2. You don't have the time or energy for a full game. Otherwise, I can't really recommend it.

A sloppy mobile HoMM.
Clearly built with a mobile game construction kit, even if the individual combat missions try to emulate KB/HoMM. This applies to the whole series.
