Baby's First HOMM

A clean, simple, colorful HoMM knockoff. Braveland, played on normal difficulty, took me about 4 hours to complete every battle including all side quests, and I only lost a battle once the entire game. I played it for the most part with my 5 and 6 year-olds, and it (mostly) held their interest. They were quite excited when we beat the final boss. The game uses most of the mechanics of HoMM series (one counter per turn, range penalties, etc.) without explaining them, assuming familiarity with not just the genre, but with that specific series. So, essentially, it's VERY short, VERY easy, but can satisfy an itch for a coffee break watered-down HoMM experience suitable for small children. (No blood and guts, no swearing, no adult situations.)

Мобильная посредственность

Единственная в своём роде игра, где самые первые юниты (Крестьяне) могут спокойно пройти вместе с тобой через всю игру нагибая всех подряд, и в самом конце завалить главного босса этой игры. 10 рабоче-крестьянских армий из 10 На самом деле игра весьма посредственная и скучная, поэтому если-бы я покупал за полную стоимость - была бы единица. Так игра на твёрдую четвёрку, и минус звезда за отсутствие достижений в игре, хотя в версии для ШТИМ они есть.

Simple, Enjoyable

I picked all three Bravelands up on a sale. They were simple strategy games, great for kids and those who aren't strategy-savvy. Lovely artwork, simplistic and a whole lot of fun to play especially if you're busy and need a pleasant game that can be played at leisure, stop and start. For strategy afficiandos they're probably too easy but for kids or people who like casual, turn-based strategies they are a pleasant day of playing.

Fun, little title.

I bought this on a whim and ended up rather enjoying it. The game is a fairly simple hex-based turn based strategy game with some very limited RPG elements. You have a small selection of units that are sufficiently distinct to be interesting, they get various upgrades and you can build them up in strength over time. Gold is scarce in the early campaign making choices matter, though towards the end you can basically buy everything you want. The combat reminds me a lot of the "Heroes of might and magic" games. Graphics are pleasing, having a "cute" look that reminds me of some mobile titles. Sound is acceptable without standing out. The game fell on the easy side. Only a single "boss" fight that was a side activity ever required more than one attempt on the normal difficulty. Overall length is quite short though I didn't mind, it doesn't overstay its welcome and the play style would become repetitive if it was stretched further. In short, I enjoyed it quite a bit as a fun diversion from other games and will definitely be playing the two additional titles in the series.

It is ok

This is a turn based 2D tactical game with an map, where you can choose locations where to go to fight next etc. The graphics are nice, the game works stable and it has low hardware requirements. The music exist of only one or two tracks (the second is a battle score), but they are nice to hear. Many things have already be written, so I won't be long. After you beat the campaign, there is no point in coming back and replaying the same campaign again. This game could have a mode, where one could play a quick match on random map/location with random enemies and placements. Like a skirmish or something. But sadly there is nothing here. I would give it 3 stars, but because of graphics, sound/music and the fluent gameplay it deserves 4 out of 5. Still, I recommend to buy it whenever on sale.
