Blast Brigade vs. the Evil Legion of Dr. Cread

Well, Blast Brigade vs. the Evil Legion of Dr. Cread is a game with nice graphics and a simple plot, but a lot of fun. The game mechanics are typical of the Metroidvania genre. And the controls are a bit heavy at first, but you'll get used to them over time. The game encourages maximum level exploration. The storyline is not a genius, but it fully complies with the humorous tone given to the title. It's the classic story of the misunderstood villain seeking revenge and social recognition. The progression system can feel unfair at times. Likewise some boss fights can generate frustration as they generally feel like damage absorbing sponges. Which makes the battles a bit longer than usual. However, each boss has its own clearly defined attack pattern and, depending on what the player does, the pattern changes or adapts. So it is not unfair. The game is a marvel, the difficulty is a challenge in every sense of the word. Patience and perseverance are necessary to finish it completely. It is very fun and the control can be a problem, but it supports the assignment of buttons to adjust it to convenience. In summary and for me it earned the five stars. And, that at first I assigned four out of five, but I was surprised by both the challenge and the gameplay, and also its goofy but entertaining story. I'm looking forward to the sequel and hope we get it soon on GOG.

I’m really enjoying it because it gives off a Metroidvania vibe with the powers and things that can only be accessed with certain abilities. The combat is very fun; it’s not quite a bullet hell, but it still has a good level of difficulty. Highly recommend it.

Decent. Has some challenges at times but not impossible even for an occasional (vs hardcore) gamer.

Pleasantly surprised by this game. Really polished metroidvania! It's quite hard but not punishing and does not use any kind of soulslike aspect to put this difficulty in place. The enemies are kinda spongy (constantly felt that the enemies took way too much hit before falling) and the fast-travel is somewhat restricting (the donut comes WAAAAAAY too late into the game). Enjoyed the story, the slapstick humor and the precise gameplay (some tight Platformer sections and some excruciating puzzles). Enjoyed this game a lot! A top tier metroidvania in my opinion.
