Let's Take a Step Back
Read all of these low star reviews. They are about gender identity. Pay attention to the game, not the incredibly small role a flat-character transgender NPC plays. In that sense, it is good. It feels like a Baldur's Gate game, and is in the spirit of the series. That is what matters here, not the liberal agenda people are accusing Beamdog of pushing.

Ah, gamers- not all of us are sad little boys with castration complexes, really. Most of us are grown men over thirty with castration complexes. Situations like this make me wonder if the gaming community will EVER improve... Part of growing up is learning how to share. And by grow up, I mean past age six or seven. I know it's hard to accept stories not tailor-made specifically just for you, but that's what porn is for. When it comes to the rest, we respect stories about other people. For those of you who think this should be "only about the game/writing, not the politics," take a look at your comrades who are so quick to make disturbing comments about transgendered people and women and ask yourself what you're really trying to say, and who you want to associate yourself with.

Dont Listen to other reviews
Everyone who is posting a one star review of the game is simply repeating what everyone else says. These people have obviously not even played the game and are upset their precious classic has been changed by someone else. These people go from download site to download site to hate on games they have not even played. No game on gog ever gets 200+ reviews on the second day its listed. Five stars just to spite them.

Haven't played it yet, I just bought it to support diverse stories in gaming. I wouldn't have even paid attention to it if there wasn't some hate campaign against it.

Review The Game.
I think one staring a game, because it has two or three characters whom you disagree with politically, is way more asinine than making a game with characters who have disagreeable political opinions. It's an RPG. If you don't like an NPC... kill them, or don't talk to them, or whatever. Games are one of the only mediums where you have that kind of agency. When you run into an NPC who is a slave trader or a cannibal do you run off and write a scathing review, "This game is pro cannibalism, if you like it you are a bad person. One Star!" No you don't, because that is ridiculous. Stop being a child. Review the game for the game.
