A Slapdash Attempt
To start, I think I speak for many people in that I'd sooner dip my pen in the Lady of Pain than continue playing this. It's true that this game was going to fill thousands of people with nostalgia, myself included. I bought this the day after it was released despite the less than admirable behavior from consumers and the developer alike. That being said, the reviews that are claiming that this game is filled with bugs are correct. Some mods, if not all of them, no longer work properly. Though one could surmise that this was to be expected considering it is the (2.0) patch for the Enhanced Edition of an age-old game. The game is also known to crash periodically, though it will quickly wear on one's nerves. I've also seen several reviews complaining about the graphics. Just to clear the air, the developer (Beamdog) had to start from scratch with the 3D aspects and such. This is due to the originals, being on a tape of sorts, being completely lost to flooding in someone's house. This being said, I'm being very fair with this review and I'm going to give Beamdog a chance to redeem itself with this nearly bug-ridden reject. If you patch this properly and do a worthwhile job in the attempt, I shall then be inclined to revisit this review and up the score. However, this is only contingent upon Beamdog getting its act together on this gibbering mass of insanity. Get to it and show me what you've got. Prove me wrong. Reject everyone else's reality and substitute a more fitting one.
