Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear fills in some of what happens to the Child of Bhaal between saving Baldur’s Gate and saving your soul from Irenicus, and it’s a hoot to revisit this world, using the old D&D rules from the 1990s. But Siege of Dragonspear hints at more — a studio that’s done with just enhancing older games and ready to carve out a place among the top storytellers in the RPG sector. Beamdog’s first effort at original storytelling is a good start, and I’m excited to see more in the future, even if it’s in the world of Baldur’s Gate.

Internet is angry, Internet SMASH!

This "inbetween" sequel got heavy flak for... what again? A very minor trader-npc that was reavealed, if inquired, to be transgender. What Internet fails to look at, apparently, is that it's a lovingly crafted, very faithful game that is by leagues better than BG1. Good Stuff: Original voice cast. A story that connects the two games in a great way. Nice to look at. More Viconia. Meh Stuff: Pathing. D&D Ruleset (so silly and antiquated). You pretty much know how it ends. Summary: If you're into old, cheesy D&D games and Infinity this is great. I wouldn't want to play BG1 into 2 without this. Thanks for writing

A very good extension

I've just completed SOD. I'm not a hardcore gamer yet I've loved playing BGI, BGII and IWD and I can say the following: -No crash(s) -Good soundtrack even if sometimes I miss the one from BG! -Long game, nice story I really liked the battle involving lots of enemies this is quite new I think. The game is more linear than BGII : there are less side quests but despite that I think if you liked the previous ones there is no reason you don't like SOD. There are plenty of references about D&D universes, humour in the dialogues etc. I recommend!

This is wrong.

Dear Beamdog. Siege of Dragonspear is a bad game. Not because writting is lacking. Not because of transgender characters, dialogs or any other part of the story. No. This is bad game because it manages to stop on I5 procesor with 16 gigabytes of ram. A game that was happy with Pentium III computer all those years ago. I can't enjoy this title. This makes me sad. And this makes you sad too, as as it's now, I can't give you my money.
