Baldur’s Gate 3 is something special, though. Its complexity is intimidating, but sticking with it and learning has such a high reward threshold that it's hard to not recommend the sequel to even the most casual gamers out there. It has heart, it has style, and it has the multi-year effort of a studio that obviously loves its source material. The mind-blowing size of the game itself and everything contained within is a testament to Larian Studios' dedication to its craft and commitment to bringing something incredible to the gaming public. The blend of the various Dungeon & Dragons systems into the game is almost flawless in its execution, and the math and storytelling combo does a one-two punch on almost every other RPG game out there. High quality and astoundingly fun, Baldur’s Gate 3 may just become the kind of game that old and new fans can agree is something extraordinary.

Story and World Pulls You In!
First, the only D&D background is buying the books/guides for the new editions as they came out for my younger brother that was an avid player. I did not play the previous Baldur's Gate titles, but a friend encouraged me to give it a try despite my dislike of the turn-based combat. Replayability...this game has it in droves. Games are expensive so if I am going to add one to my library, I want to make sure that it has solid replayability potential. With so many options in character building, combined with the rolls that can change the outcome of a planned action, I can see a lot replayability with this title and that is very important to me when I select a new game to purchase. (I also love that there are no microtransactions so this is no pay to win game.) I get the feeling that even though a player may believe they have found everything there may be some things missed due to missed survival checks, etc. So with new possible things to discover on subsequent playthroughs, it continues to have new things to discover. I have a little over 25 hours of gameplay in so far, I am still in Act 1, but I'm enjoying the interactions with the companions that have joined me in camp so far. That said, I am still not fond of the turn-based combat because it takes so long to get through some battles. I cannot just set the tactics for the companions currently in the group and let them follow those while I focus the actions of my character. There is a major learning curve for me, but I am doing my best and allowing myself to get immersed in the story and character interactions. If story-driven RPG has appeal, check this game out. Your choices can definitely impact the group. Just be prepared to do some thinking and planning and maybe just maybe get sucked into a world with characters and stories that keep you coming back for more.

free is nice, especially the red cloak
i didnt even pay for it, and the game was super cheap, i'd pay 60 bucks easily and hope for a chance to support Larian

How to activate as EA version owner?!
Would somebody care to clarify how this is applied to the game? GoG says "Moreover, remember that if you purchase Baldur’s Gate 3 now, while it's still in early access, you’ll get Digital Deluxe Edition content for free when the game launches! It’s the perfect opportunity to secure some great additions to the game!" https://www.gog.com/forum/general/grab_your_baldurs_gate_3_goodie_pack_secure_the_digital_deluxe_edition_content_and_take_our_quiz_f18e6/page2 As of now, my game doesn't show as Digital Deluxe Edition, and I could still buy it. Bought the game a few days ago, yet didn't install until today since some ppl were saying you have to download the new game files anyways. Even linked my Larian acc, but it doesn't seem to have an effect :(
