Meh.
Art direction and music (especially!) are great. Anything else didn't really stood the test of time - from graphics (prerendered backgrounds still look somehwat nice though) through gameplay to puzzles. I wouldn't buy it if I haven't played it when I was a kid but for $1 when it goes on sale the only thing you're risking is your time. Works fine on Win7 64bit for what it's worth.

Hardcore Nostalgy
I remember a game from childhood where you had to throw flowerpot from the balcony and then there was a scene behind the door that I remember never getting through. So this was the game. After 20 years Atlantis came to my mind and thanks to AI found it. Cannot say that the gameplay is smooth ... the design is basically that you have to do things in exact order at some specific moments and every wrong move is defeat. Some areas are just that you have no clue what is expected from you. Doing this game without checking the guide is only for real hardcore players. But on the other side, it is interesting to unravel the story. I sometimes miss hardcore game elements in modern games, as that makes you think and feel good when finally solving - opposed to not thinking at all during playing is braindead fun like watching TV. So, for being interesting game, giving 3 points. The graphics and gameplay are those 2 missing.

Doesn't work
it's crashing on windows 11. I tried compatiblity mode all thr way to XP and nothing.

Frustrating save points
The scenery is nice in this game, but the controls (accuracy of "click" timing & location) and the inability to choose save points make this game frustrating. Having to redo half of a scene because of being "jailed or killed" is pretty annoying.

Cardinal Sin of Adventure Games
Very little to recommend in a game that has very little in the way of puzzles and adventuring. The game has a death/game over mechanic, where if you do something wrong the main character dies or is imprisoned, ending the game. This is the cardinal sin of adventure games because it means that it punishes you for exploring. It means having to listen to same dialog repeatedly. This also means that the game mistakes yes/no questions as 'puzzles'. Literally the first puzzle is a yes/no question that if you get it wrong it's game over. If you must play this game, do it with a walkthrough and get to the 2nd game as fast as possible.
