Cut the dreadful platforming
Trying to do precise platforming sections in the doom engine is an exercise in wasted effort. The doom engine's roller-skate style movement, momentum and hacked-in jump make these sections a mindboggling inclusion. While the Metro-Ranger style difficulty is really fun, tense and difficult, the platforming is unpleasant enough to deter me from playing this at all.

Great Doom 2 Mod
Saw it pop up on GOG and gave it a shot. This mod is awesome. Feels great, looks great. Give it a shot.

Original game is better
Ashes 2036 is mod on modified engine, so I would not speak about getting max from Doom engine. Generally authors created larger, but mostly empty maps. Added simple conversation, which belongs here like rich story in p*rn. Items are used very sparingly. For me Heretic is still the best Doom game. Moreover movement is same like in some games sliding, so you have feeling, that you are on ice as somebody earlier highlighted before. Good is that finishing all levels is pretty fast.

Najlepszy mod do Doom-a
Właściwie to nie mod a pełna konwersja. Znaczy mamy oryginalne bronie i potwory a świat wokół to rozpadające się resztki starego świata w stylu Fallout-a. Design poziomów jest bardzo dobry, grafika klimatyczna wiadomo to nadal hula na mocno przerobionym silniku od Doom-a więc jest mocno old-school-owo ale przynajmniej pójdzie też na antycznym sprzęcie. Muzyka jest boska, idealnie nadaje klimat. Co ciekawe Ashes 2063 ma nawet spoko fabułę. Jakbym miał się do czegoś przyczepić to jazda motocyklem przyprawia trochę problemów a wybór przeciwników nie jest największy. No ale nie zmienia to za bardzo radochy z grania. Z tego co widzę mamy tutaj tylko główną grę i jeden dodatek. Ashes dostały już jeszcze lepszy sequel Afterglow i kolejny dodatek dziejący się przed wydarzeniami oryginalnej gry - Hard Reset.

Good that GOG keeps adding mods to games, this will make me more prone to get future games here. As for this mod? Is alright, takes a lot of inspiration from other post-apocalyptic media to create something unique, but the RPG elements can get quite boring and I really got tired of playing it when I reached that section where I'm just walking around talking to people, and backtracking, to talking to more people, and...
