Сражайтесь с кошмарными врагами: полулюдьми-полузверями Хряками, дроидами-уничтожителями, крошащими стены Голиафами, злыми монахами и дикими ветвями.

I haven't played the GoG version yet but have played from discs and it is a fantastic game. I lost count of the number of times my character died because I was laughing so much! The weaponry is fantastic and would make Monty Python jealous that they never invented it. Watching enemies get killed in hilarious ways while the humourous and irreverent utterances of our 'hero' about assorted flying body parts etc never fail to entertain. It is also a pretty decent shooter with a decent difficulty level and some of the things you can do with the weapons available are so insane that if you aren't a bit weird when you start playing, you probably will be by the time you finish!
Like the title says, its basically "a MDK type of game".
Just mindless action and fun - and its hilarious in the Lucas Arts way.
The characters are fun, the action is loud and there is a lot of destruction - and on top of that: the simply amazing and unique weaponry (Shark Gun).
I just thought about playing it again (i still have the CDs here...) and how i miss those kind of games and creativity. It is hard to say anything negative about that game and the only reason i dont give 5 stars out is probably that i dont want to promise too much (?) - But if you know MDK and love it... Well thats something for you.
If you want mindless action but in an intelligent way - you should try it too.
This is video-game essence: Fun.
The graphics, gameplay and humor may seem very familiar to those who played Giants: Citizen Kabuto and that just might be because both were from Planet Moon Studios. IMO Giants was the better game with better gameplay mechanics. I got this game back when it was first released and grew very bored of the levels and enemies about half way through, but like others have said, carried on to see what happened next in the storyline and for the humor. About that humor. If you like very dry British style humor you will love it, if not, well, this might be painful for you. I never had a laugh out loud moment, but it was creative. GoG priced this just right as I would not pay a dime more for it due to the monotony of the gameplay as you progress.
When it first came out I bought this game on a whim; I hated the controls because they weren't as polished. The camera was hard to control, but, I went back and played this game again and again. Why? because this game was bloody hilarious. The script and cut scenes alone made it worth while to replay it.
I lost the discs so I'm happy to repurchase this game again to relive the fun memories.
If you want a great laugh, get it, you won't regret it.
Short version: Play it, it's really fun, you'll have to tweak around to get it running properly, but after that it works fine.
The good:
- Lots of humor of the british kind, with some jokes that would probably offend some people in the age of SJWs, but hey, if you are not up for it you can always grab a mirror and laugh at your dead soul
- Nice variety of locations.
- A reasonable amount of collectables that enable cheats and other extra functions.
- it's an spectacle shooter, you can blow up a lot of things.
- Some crazy weapons, no other game gives you a shark launcher.
- you can attach mines to the enemies, sending them into a panic.
The bad:
- The physics are locked to the framerate, so you need to use vertical sync at no more than 60Hz or you'll end up running like Speedy Gonzales, unable to do anything. The game doesn't have a vsync option and the configuration files cannot be opened with your standard text editor. fortunately graphic cards have options to force vsync nowadays.
The ugly:
- Mouse aiming is too sensitive, even at minimun settings the mouse goes wild, if you have a gaming mouse you can lower the DPI to fix this issue, otherwise, I hope you can handle it.
- mission 18 (defend lily's home) is hard, really hard , after 1 hour of retries I had to consult a walkthrough and apparently you can lower the amount of zeppelin spawns if you destroy the first zeps in certain order, I'm not sure if that is a glitch or not, but it saved my ass, I was ready to throw the towel.
- The graphics are dated, and the facial animation could probably give nightmares to some, but that's a given in a game as old as this one.
-The story is serviceable, but works more like an accesory to the humor and gameplay
-The music is also kind of forgettable
At the end I do recommend this game, so get going and bring "death to the salad eaters!"
