One of the best J-RPG i have ever played
Characters are great The gameplay if nice The intrigue are simple but well done THE STORY IS INSAME. I cant remember a game daring to make thoses bold chose story-wise. Pure pleasure

Great game all in all
First of all I need to say the game is good and worth to buy. The story is interesting and the character development is nice as well. But fighting in the world and running around doens't feel smooth, combined with character progress. The character progress feels uneven to the enemies. After each chapter there is a gap you need to fit in. In many other games this progress is more linear or expotential, so farming/griding feels better or smoother. In Ara Fell it's mostly just gaps you need to reach (upgrade your equipment, mostly). Anyway the skill system is interesesting and it's still a great game though :)

Very good
This was a good classic RPG. The story was good and coherent. There were no random encounters. You can see all the enemies. Levelling up is pretty simple without massively complex skill trees. I didn't mind that. The music was nice. The game was a bit short, but not ridiculously short. There are no fishing mini games, so bit plus there. I hate them. Some of the mid-level bosses are ridiculously strong. I used story mode when I could see a half-hour long boss fight developing. The only think I can complain about it that the story used the old vampire trope. Vampires, werewolves, zombies: I'm asking authors to use some imagination, these three have been dragged through the mud and over the hills for decades. Other than that it was a great game.

Worth playing
As a JRPGamer for 30 years, "Ara Fell" made me feel going back to '90s and it is a satisfying experience playing. And the music and sound design are good. Considering the game made of RPG Maker, it is not bad.
