A Plague Tale is an extraordinary journey through a dark and emotional world. The story grips you from the start, following siblings Amicia and Hugo as they navigate a war-torn France ravaged by both plague and Inquisition. The bond between the siblings is the heart of the narrative, and the game does an exceptional job of making you feel their fear, love, and determination. Every moment in the story feels relevant, drawing you deeper into the struggle for survival. The gameplay is primarily focused on storytelling, and it succeeds beautifully in this regard. While there are occasional glitches and some areas where the mechanics feel a little clunky, these are minor setbacks that don’t detract from the overall experience. The mechanics are designed to complement the narrative rather than dominate it, and it works perfectly.
