Fantastic reinvented old school RPG

If your a fan of RPGs in general, give this one a shot. Arguably the best RPG Ive played in years and Ive played a ton. Everything about this game oozes quality from the old school graphics, great soundtrack, story, characters and more importantly gameplay. Going from the overworld to dungeon design to boss fights to puzzles. Up to seven different characters which all have unique abilities and a super move which all can be switch out on the fly lets you play everyone the whole time. No random encounters, Game difficulty starts out normal and ramps up through out. Optional side quests and boss fights to unlock ultimate weapons and special gear 8-Bit Adventures 2 took me about 22 hours to get through including a lot of side stuff, overall give this game a look I cant recommend it enough.

Its so good I bought it twice!

46 hours played on Steam and just finished the game. I grew up playing FF7,8 - Chrono Trigger - Grandia 2 - Skies of Arcadia - Suikoden 2 - Lunar - and I place this game on the same shelf as these guys. The cherry on the top for me is enemy design; I rushed towards every new foe just to see what kind of shenanigans they would pull and I was never disappointed, I lost count on how my times I laughed at their names and attacks. In other games I just want to beat the foe and move on with the story but not on this game, na na nope - I want to know every. single. one. of. them. A dev team so awesome, created a game so wholesome. To show all my gratitude, buying it again is my attitude. <3

What An Experience

Is it possible I found my 2023 game of the year in an 8-bit styled RPG? Don't be fooled by the look, this is a modern and impressive narrative, characters and one of the most unrated/overlooked games of the year so far. I picked this up without knowing anything about it and haven't been able to put it down since. The "quality of life" elements refind this into one of the better playing RPG's I've taken on in the last few years. It comes together with memorable characters and a wonderful story. I cannot recommend this enough.

You Have Got A Lot of Heart Kid!

...a bit too much heart. 8 Bit is another piece from the nostalgia call back center. The nostalgia weary can hang up any time, but I enjoyed the game. The difficulty is balanced throughout and there is no need for grinding. There are a dynamic roster of characters and an excellent catalogue of enemies. All of which were well illustrated within the 8-bit medium. The story hits its beats with good timing and tells a generational hero's journey that is true to form and entertaining. The melodrama is over the top at times with game play that is punctuated by a few too many "intense" emotional exposition scenes. There is one scene in where the playable characters are so consumed in a vigorous round of expositional, climactically-heartfelt hexaolouge that they forget their incapacitated friend unhealed in the snow (I personally found this hilarious, please never patch it). The music needs more work. Almost every theme song shares a nearly identical set of phrasing at the end at each song before looping over. Some of the end phrases are in a different or modulated key depending on the song but they are so similar that most of the songs sound the same. Sometimes, I think the old RPGs get too much credit; were this game on the old 8 bit systems it would be among the best of them. Unfortunately timing is critical. Excellent rpg

Very good story and characters, the combat is challengingbut accessible, the music really takes everything over the top!
