I grew up with the Dark Eye and Wizardry - two amazing series. It wasn't until Wizardry 8 that I however fell genuinely in love with the Wizardry series. It is unique, it is well written, the music is great and the dialogue and characters are extremely well written. Combat mechanics are good, and impact of leveling characters can be "felt" properly.
Graphics are only okay, but the overall presentation, content and music really set this gem apart from other games of the time!
I loved this game. I remember taking a bit of time to get used to the combat system, but definitely not too long. I really enjoyed this game all the way to the end. I do remember being frustrated at times, but I can't remember why. Whatever those frustrations were, they didn't keep me from finishing.
I would rate this game in my top ten RPGs of all time.
Yes, yes it is. This game is extremely chalengeing on the easy setting and should only be played by people with time to invest in a single game. Everything you do matters and how you make your party and train skills matters. You will die a lot. You will throw your mouse across the room. You will keep playing. It's a masterpiece.
