Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate

Tried to install this on 3 window 7 machines.It will not even install (it says something about '/' or some other problem in installation). Final liberation has this problem as well-but will play after some fiddling. Quite upset as i bought this on launch day and it has still not been patched.

Today we have Rogue Trader, Darktide, and this game's sequel, Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters. The 1990s had Chaos Gate, and they were lucky to, it's great even today. This was the most ambitious and successful attempt at bringing the 40k setting to life at the time. Fully rendered and voice acted cutscenes, customizable Space Marine squads with bolters, flamers, plasma guns, etc. controllable Dreadnoughts, Rhinos, Predators, all lovingly animated in an XCOM-like tactical strategy game. The heavy footsteps of the Terminators, the beautiful chanting soundtrack, the passionate yelling about purging heresy whenever your marines shoot, this game was clearly made with passion for the IP, and all that only 12 years after the IP was first published. After the first mission you quickly start controlling multiple squads at once, which starts to feel like an entire army. You start getting Techmarines, Librarians with Psyker powers, and choose between melee and ranged squads. You throw grenades, set traps and explode environmental hazards. You can feel this is a quality strategy game right off the bat. So I 100% recommend it, in the 90s, today, and in the future too.

its an old gem, and its working properly with w11 with only a minor hack

I started playing WH40K games with dawn of war and loved that game. I needed some low fi games for my laptop and grabbed this based on the reviews. It really does hold up so long after release! After reading the manual to understand the UI I have had a lot of fun and the graphics are charming.

This is my first ever Warhammer 40,000 game and i find it a very solid turn based strategy game. You have squads specialized in tasks and each squad member has a name, you can choose their equipment and even switch them between squads to make a team with the max AP possible. The map has levels you can switch at any time with the keyboard, like, you can have a fight in level 2 and then press 4 to see how things are going at that level. The space marines can walk, crouch and run, look around and carry destructive weapons and grenades. Also they can interact with the map making the interaction button available when it is possible. A true gem of old. For me it is just a very enjoyable turn based game i would recommend to anyone who likes this kind of games.
