I only know I don't want to remember it
I'll be quick: I played it at least 10, or maybe even 15 years ago. I clicked on this title because the name felt familiar. WarWind. Oh yes, I know I played it. When I saw first screen shot - busted. This is one of the games I don't want to remember. Really. I don't remember why. I like RTSes, back then I loved them and played every single one I could, and the only thing I remember about this one is that I hated it, and that I wanted to erase it from my memory. Geesh. I must have been truly biased. I'm giving it 3 now, because it's really hard to put me in that state. Oh wait. I can remember some flashbacks now.. no no no no, it's old, I know, people spent their time on this, I know, but be gone with it. Westwood's Command&Conquer came out in 1995 and this game feels like a cheap half-made clone. Gosh, TotalAnnihilation was released in 1997, and it's unimaginably better in every single detail. Maybe except story, because TotalAnnihilation has almost none. I have to admit. There WAS something interesting in WarWind. I wouldn't remember the title otherwise. I don't remember total craps, and I played A LOT at that time. But I know I don't want any hour more on this game. Why do I even write this. IDK. Maybe I want to emit this frustrated aura of unmet hope. 2 stars.

Too rough
I've played Warcraft 1 & 2, Dune 2 and other really old RTS games and i still couldn't deal with War Wind. Something about the way units move and act feels "wrong". Collecting resources is really clunky. And all the commands are hidden in a popup menu with vague icons. It's all too iffy. Which is a shame because it seems really cool with the four different factions and all.
