Base Game & Expansions Review
TL:DR-Bottom Single-Player Base Campaign: ---- -Pacing Okay the base game is extremely rushy, like if you played by the suggested timing, and sort of added the achievement time based stuff the whole game would last like 3 hours. I don't like that. -Ambiance It isn't funny, like at all. It is very serious, and the graphics aren't fun anymore. Succubuses and torture chambers are disusting, why is everything becoming gross like Diablo games? -Tactics In Single player there is no reason to make rooms, wall serve no purpose and just slow units down. -Gameplay The only way I could effecively beat every level was to just build Sentry traps (cannons), add the bulwarks to armor them, and then spam repairs and push them forward until I destroyed the enemy dungeon hearts using them. One level I just possessed a flying unit and attacked the enemy dungeon heart from an absurd (unlimited) range. Otherwise I couldn't beat the level. I wanted the home realm dungeon experience to be fun, but the narrator wouldn't stop yelling at me to hurry up; who wrote this? Expansions: ---- -Ambiance They got the jist, people didn't want to play a rushed game. It felt like your kids were rushing you to get to a theme park. You couldn't enjoy it, and the chaos wasn't fun, it was just chaos. Now they added in enemies that you can remember from one level to another. Much better. -Level Design Completely different -Overall Much better, but not many levels and I assume the game is done. Multiplayer: ---- -I don't play multiplayer, like the other 95% of people out there. -I play the campaign, I buy campaign expansions, then I go onto the next game. I don' know why a sim-game would ever waste time on anything multiplayer related, but to each their own. Overall: ---- -It is still a fun sim game, the building and spells are neat. -Tactics don't actually have any place. Just build Sentry guns, bulwark them, and as for rooms, there is no actual dungeon design.
