first complexe, than pure fun
honestly guys, who didnt dream about a carriere as a hacker in his youth? when i was about 10 or 15 years old i played a trial-version of this. soon i deleted this because i couldnt play it. my english wasnt that good and i couldnt even beat the tutorial-hack on the test-server. now im 22 and i understand every word written on the screen. so i bought this game on gog for 2.99 bugs. the game is fun to play. its like having a real (2nd) job as a hacker, doing his job for the uplink-company. you hack servers, computers etc, steal and manipulate datas, delete files..... and all for money. you get 3000 credits as a loan from uplink, and you better pay that fee back ASAP, than you are free and able to spend your money to new hard- and software you can work with to gain more money. ow and while you proceed in your missions, your ranking will increase, giving the option to accept harder, but more profitable jobs. its in your hand. dont get caught by the pple you hack ;)

The game has a weak tutorial, I felt like I was left somewhere in the dust and no one bothered to properly explain things to me. After some time I picked up a few things but there was a problem. The difficulty curve of the missions is very uneven. I barely got my Proxy Disable software version 1 when three missions later it said I need version 5 or I won't complete the contract. That is so unfair...how I am supposed to get enough money to upgrade my rig and buy advanced software when almost all you get, after some time, are such stupid missions? Cool idea in overall, but ultimately I regret buying this.

The game no one from IT should play
I give it 3 starts and no less 'cos it may be this games is just not for me. May be, if I had choose a different road out of high school i'd love this game. With the things as they are, this is like work, but a little more limited. The hole mechanics of the game is about typing and clicking stuff in a time constrained fashion. If you gonna go down this road, at least give me some kind of scripting or advanced text edition functions. That way at least I get to automate the repetitive shit.

Great effort and concept but not enough.
I tried. I wanted to like it. And it's good. But that's all I can say. It held my interest for a bit and maybe I'll go back to it on a whim...otherwise the text based format just got taxing. The concept it fantastic though. If they could remake it with a visual candy or other aspects that will offer variety I think they have something here. If you like something different....it's worth the money! I Like I said it's alright....just not enough variety for me.
