It includes all the elements that I want from this type of game. Well done in any aspect.
A bit easy maybe. But rather easy than super hard.

Beautifully drawn, with an interesting, branching storyline, engaging and compelling characters, superb voice-acting across the board, and a decent soundtrack. Moral choices and multiple endings truly make for amazing and satisfying gameplay. The only real criticism is the game is a bit on the shorter side -- one you start playing, you'll really get into it and won't be able to put it down until you complete it!
* The best parts of the game were the character dialogue and storyline, and the hardest decisions in the game weren't about the "case ending" moral dilemmas, but the metro character selection screens. All the characters worked and had their place, and now I want to play the game again only to see how different combinations of characters work together.
* The story pacing worked well and didn't feel hurried.
* Art was excellent all over, although something in the main character's sprite seemed off to me, particularly the face. The portait looked good, though.
* Soundtrack was amazing with tunes of multiple different styles to keep them interesting.
* Voice acting was probably the best in a Wadjet Eye title yet.
* There are a few odd things about the puzzles that one might assume to work differently, and the game is strangely picky about the solution. Otherwise, the puzzles were on the easier side. I'd say they were still quite enjoyable.
* Technical issues involved only one bug with the dialogue breaking and requiring a restart, as well as the mouse not being locked in the game window
I own and have played every Wadjet Eye that is on GOG to date, and can say that their games are all about the story, its telling and the characters within. If you're looking for mind boggling puzzles that will take you hours to solve, you're better off looking elsewhere, especially if you're a seasoned adventure gamer.
That being said, Unavowed (and other Wadjet Eye games in general) have a unique way of setting a special ambiance, that personally manage to bring a calm to my mind whenever I play them. This one especially is all about (the illusion of the) choices you make, that get reflected down the line in the game.
I found it quite enjoyable, and would recommend to anyone really. I think that anyone could enjoy it, albeit at a different level.
As a bonus, like with most Wadjet Eye games, you get to enjoy references to their previous installments if you got to play them, though it is not required that you have.
The game features pixel art, and animations that are trying to capture a Noir vibe. I found the character's facial renderings especially aesthetically pleasing in this game, though I thought the renderings of the full sized characters could use some more work - and I say this knowing that it can be a faux pas, as pixel art leaves much to the mind of the person looking at it.
The game features several areas of New York City, so the game does not feel repetitive or tiresome to play. Each unique area just enough variance in order to keep the mind entertained.
One of the things I enjoyed the most however, was the soundtrack. I think it is probably my favorite part of this one. I felt like it captured the ambiance of every room perfectly, and I could just leave the game rolling so I could enjoy the music while I did other things. 5/5 on that one.
To cut this short, I gave this 4 starts is because I did not find the puzzles difficult enough, and because there is a personal, romanticized note to the portrayal of New York city, one that I do not agree with.

Like most other adventures from WadjetEye, this one is also more story-driven than a puzzling adventure game.
And like some other ones it is also about myth, magic and spirits. But it's bigger and deeper and with more decisions that feels relevant.
For me, some of the decisions even left me back in thoughts (what is right and wrong).
Last but not least: I like'd the ending(s) too. It felt rounded and not hasty-done or so.
Can't wait for new adventures with the Unavowed. ..or for any other new game by WadjetEye.
