Ultima™ IV: Quest of the Avatar

Great game. I keep seeing people complain about the controls but I didn't have any problems. Never checked a manual either, just some cursory experimentation and I had everything down in minutes. This game reminds me a lot of a mix between roguelikes and dungeon crawlers.

Great game plays allmost like i renember but the best vesrion was the stranglely on the master system it's werid a console version out peformed the pc version out of the box

does not work, it just starts and then shuts down.

This game shattered what people thought a computer RPG could and should do, and inspired not only the future generations of RPGs in the west, but also the japanese took the player involvement Ultima IV offered to heart. The series continued to kick in doors all the way to VII (and some would say VIII,) but this is where it really took speed and astounded everybody. I award it only four only because even for it's time, it was not a particularly easy game to play, nor a particularly impressive feat graphics/sound wise.

A seminal RPG classic. The birth of a genre. I remember how immensely challenging this game was back in the old days before you could just look up every answer on the internet.
