Turok 3 Shadow of Oblivion Remastered is a faithful restoration of the classic first-person shooter originally released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64, upgraded through Nightdive Studios’ proprietary KEX Engine for play on modern gaming devices with up to a 4K resolution at 120FPS.

It joins Nightdive Studios, Universal Games, and Digital Platforms’ popular Turok and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil remasters, capping off the trilogy. Turok 3 Shadow of Oblivion Remastered features upgraded gameplay, high-resolution textures, enhanced lighting and rendering, and support for gamepads.

Turok 3 Shadow of Oblivion Remastered is the first title from Nightdive Studios to be remastered using the latest version KEX engine, which utilizes an improved renderer to achieve a higher tier of visual fidelity across 3D models, textures, and graphical effects.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion Remastered does have some simple and fun levels to go through, and this remaster looks wonderful, but I don’t know if players will want to drop $30 on this title with how little there is here in terms of content.

Not bad but not great either.

I remember playing this on my N64 back in the day. Though still mediocre and easily the worst in the trilogy, Nightdive did a great job remastering it. The game is much sharper and runs muuch better than its N64 counterpart. However, because of this, you can definitely see flaws in the models. Gunplay is better but some of the hit scanners are just as annoying as before (some can hit you through walls and doors), the levels are very linear and boss fights are really easy. I wish Nightdive could have remastered the voice lines and some of the sound FX but it is what it is. The soundtrack is pretty decent. I'm guessing the reason this game is the most pricey out of the trilogy is because the other two had PC ports already while (I believe) this one didnt so more work was involved. Is it worth full price? Probably not. If you find it on sale, its worth it if you're a Turok fan. I still don't like Adon's design.

Pretty Meh

Not as good as the first two games and the sound needs a remaster. It feels like an attempt at copying Half Life and other shooters of the time rather than being it's own thing.

To Oblivion with this game.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion remains a mediocre game, just as it was back then. Despite the updates, the asking price still doesn't align with its quality. The game is a downgrade from its predecessors in all departments, such as audio, level design, weapon design, and enemy design. However, I give high praise to the music composer, Nelson Everhart, for the marvelous work done on the game's soundtrack. Additionally, the removal of the multiplayer feature is a shameful cut, as playing with bots was a fun aspect of the original game. The lack of clear communication about this removal feels misleading and borderline fraudulent for fans.
