The Lost Land...
A world where time has no meaning - and evil knows no bounds. Torn from a world long gone, the time traveling warrior Turok has found himself thrust into a savage land torn by conflict. An evil overlord known as 'The Campaigner' seeks to shred the fabric of time and rule the universe using an ancient artifact known as 'The Chronoscepter'. The Chronoscepter was shattered thousands of years ago in an effort to keep it from falling into evil hands. The Campaigner has constructed a massive focusing array which he plans to use to magnify and pervert the power of the Chronoscepter in order to shatter the barriers between the ages and rule the universe. Turok has vowed to find the eight pieces of the Chronoscepter spread throughout the Lost Land and put an end to The Campaigner's evil plot...

Sorry, but is someone out of his mind? I've been playing this game 18 years back - for today's standards it's simply one ugly looking piece. It's hard to master (it's good) and guaranties many spent hours playing... but almost 15 EURO (with discount!!) for this?!?! No way! It's fun to gather best oldies, but not for the price of discouted new titles. Sorry.

Imho- Worth a buy, but not at this price
As a long time fan of Turok (back from it's days on the N64, before the last-gen reboot) there are a few issues that need to be addressed with this release.
1. Charging us $20 (or 15.99 while it's on sale) is just WAY too much, even for a game of this Caliber. Even Rogue Squadron, another GREAT piece of 64 gaming nostalgia, as well as part of the Star Wars franchise, sells for $10, non-sale pricing [and often for about $7 when on sale].
Imho- $10 would be a reasonable asking price for this game, it is a product of the late 90's, after all.
2. It appears the fog of war has been removed, and when I played this game, while it seemed more of an annoyance at first- overall I feel it greatly added to the atmosphere of the game, making it a slightly more tense and mysterious environment.
Completely removing the fog seems short sighted, in my opinion.
I hope if there's a second version of this release, the devs will make sure to add an option to re-enable the original fog, and hopefully they'll consider charging a more reasonable price for a game from '99 made with relatively few tweaks.
Sidenote: I *WOULD* consider 15/20 for this a fair price if they could *somehow* hobble together a workable lan multiplayer mode for this release.
Random Turok Factoid: Iguana [Turok's Devs] had to produce all of their game development tools internally.
Fitting the game on its 8 MB cartridge was difficult; ultimately, Iguana had to compress everything and reduce the quality of the music to meet size requirements.
...the game used real-time lighting effects and particle systems for added realism. Iguana was able to use Acclaim's state-of-the-art motion capture studio, allowing humanoid characters to move smoothly and in a convincing manner
... A stuntman recorded movements for the human characters; while the developers tried to use emus and ostriches for the dinosaurs, the results were only used as reference material. (Source: Development section of the Turok Wiki)
I'll buy it when the cost goes down, 20 € is just too much. I think that 10 or 8 € would be a better price point for this, they didn't even retexture it.
This is a fantastic title for the nostalgic. If you know what this is, and you think you're interested, just go ahead and buy it. The mouse control is spot on, the game play is almost Doom 2 paced, and best of all no crummy fog wall! The Aklaim and Iguana intros are even intact. Mommy! Technically, the port works very well for me, so far.
If you're picking this up for the first time, expect: Fairly open level design for the time, decent platforming sections, good weapon variety with a few unique ones thrown in, and some sorta-interesting-at-times-but-repetitive enemies. The soundtrack is funky and does a pleasant job of just blending in without being too up-front. A solid 'B' grade shooter for the period.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
