Great indie game, but that Banner...
If you're wondering why there's so many one-star reviews from non-verified owners of this game, I'll bet it mainly has to do with the current cover art. Believe it or not, while the game DOES have that fixiation on weight-changing and the like, that artwork of Miss Shark up there is the most overtly sexualized part of the game. She's even wearing a pirate getup in-game once the player reaches her boss battle. That bikini only exists in that picture up there. The funny thing is that if you check out the Steam version of the game, not only is the cover art different, but it's a far better representation of what's in the box. I'd recommend the creator or Gog changing the Gog version's cover to the one displayed on Steam, because it's making people think its a full on pornographic furry simulator; not the mere platformer with T-rated suggestive elements it actually is. Now for the game itself. For an indie dev's first big outing, Tribal Hunter is better than it has any right to be. The weight-changing element adds a unique layer to the gameplay, making the player toe the line between being fast and weak, versus slow and heavy-hitting. Granted, this game loop exists because the whole game has that weight-gaining kink to it, but I've found it to be nowhere near as sexualized as people are making it out to be. It's a constant presence, but doesn't become worse than cartoon characters growing huge, with light, suggestive elements here or there. I've seen a couple people complain about how healing works, but there's an element they've either missed or neglected to mention. The usual way to heal is for the player to sit down, where they trade fat for health points, While sitting, hold down the "Fire Spell" button ('H' in my game), and the healing massively speeds up. All in all, the game is fun to play, and can be fun for you too if you don't mind what's in the in-game screenshots. Unfortunately, first impressions matter, and that banner up there is very misleading.
