Bardzo dobra gra
Na wstępie zaznaczam, że nie grałem w stare części Thiefa (1-3), a do tej gry podszedłem zupełnie neutralnie, bez większych oczekiwań. I bardzo pozytywnie się zaskoczyłem - Thief jest ogólnie bardzo dobrą grą, która została skrzywdzona niskimi ocenami przez oczekiwania fanów starszych części serii i sporo bugów w edycji premierowej (te zostały w większości połatane). Gra jest mroczna, posiada niesamowity klimat i ciekawe lokalizacje - jednym słowem - wciąga. Mechanika rozgrywki/skradania - jest solidna, wygodna i satysfakcjonująca. Z wad należy wymienić liniowość w głównych misjach, dosyć monotonne przebijanie się przez mapę pomiędzy misjami (aczkolwiek eksploracja miejscówek i szukanie "znajdziek" na mapie jest interesująca) i momentami nierówne zachowanie przeciwników (np. raz mogą nie zauważyć Cie z z dosyć bliska, a innym razem nieźle zaskoczyć). Osobiście polecam grę każdemu, kto lubi gry z mrocznym klimatem i ciekawą historią. Jeżeli chodzi o kwestie techniczne - zero problemów - chociaż osobiście grałem w grę na platformie Steam.

Almost good
(I've never played the original Thief games) Good stealth mechanics and level design, but environments feel tight / narrow. No fast travel anywhere means you'll be running the same routes over and over just to get to places. I enjoyed the story and its cryptic ending. The biggest crime is that the loot is very underwhelming; in a game ostensibly focused on stealing big prizes and important stuff, 90% of the loot is silver knives, gold teacups & saucers, brass candlesticks etc. The Bank Job DLC (included) starts to tap into the franchise's potential with tons of cash and some rare jewels, and the Moira Asylum level has some great atmosphere, but the actual thieving in Thief is meh. 6/10

This is fine (purchased on steam 2014)
It really is - worse than you'd had hoped for but better than user scores would indicate. Just an average 3A stealthy-ish game that happens to have a word "thief" in the title. I can see that a lot of work and even appreciation for the source material was put into the development but unfortunately producer's demand for modern visual and gameplay aesthetic screwed it up because they were implemented somewhat mechanically. Honestly, it really boils down to whether you want to spend time on it. If you're a fan of the original and have played fan missions (dark mod included) as well as games like Dishonored you can give it a go. To everyone else there are ton of better options available out there. Personally I don't regret 10 days I have wasted on "th4f" but I also don't remember much from it (exception being references to the older games) and it's unlikely that I'll ever be coming back to it. 2.5-2.75 stars out of 5 seem fair.

Unpopular opinion maybe: Best Thief game
No more wasting my actual life running around getting lost for the 9th time. No more semi-claustrophobic feel to Manor missions. Nor having to deal with something like ill-placed zombies everywhere with limited resources to deal with them. In this Thief game you’ll get to fully appreciate parkouring about the rooftops and hideaways as your playground. You fully utilize your environment for stealth, like crouching on top of a chandelier to either drop-attack a guard, or vanish like you were never there. This is one of three games that made me feel like a genuine thief, literally sliding from shadow to shadow. The dour visual vibe is perfect; it doesn’t overdo it. The pan at the beginning of the game out towards the water I found amazing. Romano Orzari does a fantastic voice acting job. I fully enjoyed the inclusion of “powers”. Because what thief wouldn’t eventually develop hyper-focus or safer landings. Plus, there’s always been a supernatural aspect to the Thief universe. The story might be considered basic. But when you give me this much rooftop highway, who cares. I played this in the middle of Covid, so the plague and civil unrest plots in the game hit harder. I can’t believe this great game didn’t get better press, reviews, and following. I hope a 2nd one is made soon.
