Terrible update, I played this on a GTX980 at 60FPS, now a RTX3060Ti it's a stutter fest. Game also crashes every 30 minutes or so. The old version is no longer available, so thanks for ruining Witcher 3.

Witcher 3 "Complete" Edition 2022 Review
Giving the game a low score because of a few things... mostly on the normal shitty customer service GOG & CDPR provide. Specifically, together, they are locking in game items behind their crappy launcher they're slowly making into their form of basic DRM. Further points are lost because, unlike Steam where on can download just what you need to play, GOG & CDPR have decided to include multiple language files in the offline installer bloating said installer to 80 GB. The install size for my English system is only 59 GB. 80 GB is nearly 1/5 of my quota and not very customer friendly; instead just provide links to a language installer. There's been many complaints about the game's performance with this upgrade which I have not had... but I can also say that the game doesn't seem different enough to warrant massive performance changes. It's alright improvement... but obviously not something they should charge for (and hence the free update status).

A complete mess after DX12/RT update
DO NOT BUY. This new version of TW3 has destroyed a fantastic game; screwed FOV (and still no FOV slider); graphical glitches, horrific performance even on an i9 1920X/32GB RAM/PCIE SSD/RTX 3080Ti.

BEST GAME EVER!!!!
After spending more than 100 hours in The Witcher 3, we’re still left with dozens of side quests to complete, enormous tracts of land left to explore, and monsters yet to fight. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a thoughtful, diverse, and frequently awe-inspiring adventure. Its stories are deep and satisfying, unafraid to touch on themes of personal character, presenting players with choices and consequences that aren’t about turning into a hero or a villain. In the end, it’s quite simply one of the best RPGs ever made.

Technically broken mess
CDPR should've left well enough alone with Witcher 3. It was a great RPG.. But with their latest hamfisted update they've technically broken the game. And even months of patching hasn't fixed it. First it tried to fry my GPU. Now it just outright crashes the drivers while showing some rainbow looking artifacts when ever I turn my screen. ( Not seen that with ANY other game in my 20+ years of gaming ) And given how I'm running some of the latest hardware this should NOT be happening. If it worked as advertised ( like it did before the 4.0 patch ) it would be a solid 9/10 - but as it doesn't work at all and I cannot play then it's literally 0 / 10. I don't care how good the gameplay is if I cannot actually play the game. And that they took a perfectly functional game and then broke it completely is beyond embaressing. I work in software development and you don't release something to the customer if it cannot pass even the most basic of QA. Like you might have some edge cases that you don't expect.. that's understandable and excusable. But if it tries to cook my GPU or crashes both Nvidia and AMD cards then I can only assume 0 QA was done at all. Or more likely there was a deadline and some bigwig thought "Nah it'll be fine.. I want my bonuses.." and greenlit it anyway. Either way shame on you CDPR.
