Very good game, very bugged.
You’d probably better not buy it if you can't stand managing the shortcomings of the developers. After only a few hours into the game, I found three major bugs, all easy to find, one of them very easy to reproduce, that will plague my whole playthrough. I don't understand. For a game out for about 5 years, of that price, that made big, big bucks, for a company that wishes to do the best they can for their players. One of the bugs is even still in the engine in their following game. Three stars nearly feels too much after such negligence, but still, the game is so good… And also, still no keybinding? Only some semi charbind that they inexplicably call keybind? And you can't even rebind all major functions? Come on!

An interactive story
Two stars for graphics and story. But nowadays, if I want to watch a movie, it's better to watch the series. For me, an RPG lives from the gameplay, the leveling up and a gripping story. The gameplay is average at best for a 2015 game and leveling is pretty much unnecessary. Geralt moves clumsily like the nameless one from Gothic one and two. Different skills may provide variety in the fight, but if you skill a little conscientiously and keep an eye on the equipment, you are so OP at level 15 that fights become even more boring than they already are and hinder you, the long drawn-out story to be told. The character development feels completely meaningless. I was hoping that oils and potions would fit into gameplay as a condition. In the beginning I still used this because hey, I'm a witcher... now I don't use it at all anymore because the application only prolongs the boredom. I picked up something about boss fights and kept playing. Only to find out that I had already completed such without realizing it. In the right mood, I might embark on it again. But not as THE best RPG ever, but as an interactive story.

Overrated and very repetitive gameplay
This is probably one of the most overrated titles of the last decade or so. Graphically, it's really pretty and judging by the level of details one can tell the devs put their heart in this game (very rare these days!). However, combat on foot is tedious, combat on horse is simply awful (both PC and NPCs will keep missing the target) and, worst of all, the quests are simply boring. The quests are of the "fetch" type for the most part, with a lot of: 1. go speak to Mr X; 2. go on the other side of the map and investigate/kill/talk to Mr Y; 3. go back to Mr X to get your reward, but wait! since you're here, why don't you do me another favour and go to the other end of the map and talk/kill/investigate Mr Z? Thanks! Rinse and repeat. Side quests also seem to have relatively little background/story so far, and are very disconnected from one another. I tend to be a completionist when it comes to RPGs, but after 25h of The Witcher 3 I stopped doing secondary quests and only focussed on the main plot; by 37h, I gave up on the main quest as well, as that also became repetitive (I got as far as Skellage, but my interest in finding Ciri was decreasing by the minute). Sure, the world is big, but it feels like it's not really worth investigating after the first couple of locations. You mostly find only a bunch of monsters/bandits to kill, a couple of pretty (eye candy) places to admire and more fetch-quest givers. No dungeons, no long and articulated side quests, no mysteries to unravel. Even the cities like Novograd, which is rendered magnificently in great detail, feels pointless and bleak as it is devoid of ***interesting*** things to do. Sometimes it felt like the devs went for quantity (of quests, monsters, alchemic reagents) rather than quality. In all honesty, I could recommend this game only to players who have A LOT of time to kill, have fairly low expectations of what a REWARDING quest should look like and love combats where they can SMASH buttons on the keyboard.

Is This Normal on GOG?
Saw Witcher 3:Wild Hunt was on sale on GOG and Amaz*n. So created account with GOG to purchase and try GOG out versus the "other" company. After account was created and logged in, the title is switched to not being on sale after putting in cart. After removing it and going back to game page, no longer on sale. Can't help but feel this was kind of sketchy.
