Good but not the best game I ever played

The world itself is outstanding, both the technically and creatively, I love how huge it is and that you can go just about anywhere and it's superbly detailed. This game is #1 in this respect. The plots and subplots are decent and functional and for the most part are tied together well. The voice acting is generally very good, except, unfortunately, for the main character. All his lines are delivered with the same level of seeming annoyance and despondence which makes him come across as just a miserable SOB. I don't know if one of the aims of the game was to get you connected to the main character and emotionally invested in the story, but unfortunately that just didn't happen for me -- even as a father of daughters (your main quest is to find your adoptive daughter) But what becomes most tedious is the shear amount of swearing and sex references, both overt of implied. While I'm no prude, the level that they take it to becomes so predictable it loses its effect and overall detracts from the game and story. It's like icing on a cake -- just the right amount and it's delicious, but there's a point when there's more than is necessary. The combat is cool but after a while becomes somewhat monotonous as it does not require a whole lot of skill or strategy. So overall a very awesomely designed and built game that is unfortunately hampered by a flat main character and dialog that is needlessly overly graphic.

Mogło by być lepiej.

Ogólnie gra sama w sobie to kawał dobrej roboty. Osobiście uważam że rozwijanie postaći to jakaś kompletna bzdura a drzewko umiejętności to kompletne nieporozumienie, w moim mniemaniu system rozwojuy postaci mógł by się raczej opierać na rozwoju postaci przez zwiększanie jej HP/DMG/ etc. przez punkty reszta (umiejętności) powinna być wolna. albo odblokowywana wraz z jakimiś misjami bądź postępami postępami. (Ew. co dodrzewka umiejętności za duży wachlaż na tą grę, powinno być bardziej ukrócone np. zamiast np rozwijania osobno silnych ataków i słabych powinny być w jakiś sposób razem). Dodam że to drzewko to katastrofa od pierwszej częsci i autorzy wyraźnie nie mają na nie pomysłów. IQ mobów to katastrowa. Tak po zatym wielki +++ grało się przyjemnie.

I would have to say that this game is by far the best RPG that i have played. From the soundtrack, quests, story, atmosphere there is not much like it. Must play

I'm playing this on PS4 and I'm impressed by the amount of work put into this game. Nothing is overlooked in each department and the game has huge amount of meaningful content. They packed everything on one blue-ray on PS4. I'm impressed. Thanks.

Too many mechanics (first impressions)

I have clocked in 6 hours of game-play, and my first impression so far is pretty good. However despite playing for this long, it still sort of feels like I haven't gotten a good grasp of all the core game-play mechanics, and am still getting tutorials for new things. Having a lot of things to learn can be nice for people looking for a good amount of variety in their game. But it also means it will take a while before you are fully comfortable playing as Geralt. And it's not just tutorials themselves, there's a lot going on in the game at one moment that it's hard to keep track of everything. For example: memorizing all the combat hotkeys (spells, parries, dodges, etc.), food / health management, keeping track of all the characters / factions in the main story and side quests, inventory management, gathering resources (there's so much random stuff in the game world), character progression systems, crafting, potion making, etc. I know a lot of these are typical in video games, but it feels like the Witcher 3 takes these mechanics to 11. There's so much going on in this world that I sometimes get information overload. That's not to say my experience was bad. So far I think the writing is pretty great for a video game, if a bit lengthy. And the world is pretty intriguing, though the terrain can feel a bit flat and monotonous. It's not a fantasy landscape, rather it's a more believable world that matches the gritty story well. The world can sometimes feel a bit too dreary and hostile towards you, but I'm counting on the "Blood and Wine" expansion pack to offer a nice diversion from this gloom. Overall not a bad game, and I can see why people praise it. But you will need to invest a good amount of time before getting comfortable with the game world.
