On Top Of The Best Games I Ever Played

A (Very Belated) Love Letter

I know I might be a bit late to the party with this review it’s been ages since The Witcher 3 released, and this is probably my 10th+ time playing it but I’m writing this for anyone who’s still on the fence about giving it a shot. As a longtime fan of both the books and the games, I’ve put hundreds of hours into The Witcher 3. To me, it’s a masterpiece an easy 10/10. But I’ll admit, that’s the fan in me talking. So let’s look at it from a more balanced perspective. The story is strong even if you haven’t read the books, but having that background makes everything richer. The world feels huge and a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get into it, you’ll realize there’s something meaningful in almost every corner. The characters, main and side alike, are some of the best written in any game. You’ll grow attached to some and despise others, even minor ones. The gameplay can get a bit repetitive over time, and I won’t lie riding can be frustrating at moments *looks at Roach climbing a roof*. But we love our clunky horse regardless. The depth of builds, skills, and equipment helps keep things interesting, especially in New Game+. Plus this game has one of the best mini games ever. You might run into bugs or clunky movement, but it’s usually not enough to ruin the experience. Even after all these years, the visuals hold up incredibly well. Some areas are genuinely stunning. Paired with the beautiful soundtrack, the atmosphere becomes unforgettable. I’ve spent so much time just riding through the world, doing nothing but taking it in. You can easily put 60–80 hours into the main story. Add side quests and exploration, and it can easily pass 150+. The choices you make actually matter, and the game feels fresh on repeat playthroughs. And the DLCs? Some of the best I’ve ever played, especially Blood and Wine, which feels like a full game on its own. Even with its flaws, this is still one of the best games I’ve ever played. A true classic. Solid 9/10.

Thanks GOG for the upgrade!

The best RPG I have ever played and I have been playing PC games since the Commodore 64 was the the way to play RPGs. Playing the game from the begining through Witcher 3 gives you certain advantages, since your victorious endings are carried over to the next game. CD PROJEKT RED is simply amazing in their attention to detail in story telling and senic beauty. The Witcher books which take many ideas from actual Polish History, minus the monsters, although some of the actual enimies were considered monsters at the time, have been followed and enhanced within these story lines. I suggest, if you haven't already, buy all the games, read the books and start from the beginning, nice way to enjoy the quiet of winter when your not outside. Finally a very appreciated "Thank You!" to the folks at COG for the upgrade to Witcher 3 Game Of The Year addition. I had all the updates and DLCs already. It is a generous gesture from the folks at COG. It is nice to be remembered as loyal cutomer. Thanks again! I appreciate it! Al

Simply Amazing!

The best RPG ever. Period. Immersive, beautiful, easy to play, incredible storytelling, mostly non-linear, opportunities to craft, explore, etc. Replayability with the "+" mode without starting over with your character build. Simply amazing. Cannot recommend more!
