Good Action Adventure with RPG Elements

Let's say it plain. CDPR is the new Bioware. And thus they haven't invented the wheel but they did a good job in evolving (along with Rockstar) the Open World Genre. There are a lot of things to like, the overall world, along with the art design of costumes and armor and of course the laconic main protagonist. Some Story elements are realy strong an emotional moving. On the other hand the main plot around Ciri lacks and also the War between Nilfgaard and Temeria left me rather cold. The small stories often outweigh the major plot. What I don't like though is the Assassins-Creed-like approach where the map is flooded with icons and unnecessary tasks. Also the crafting of potions feels rather dull and barely makes sense even in higher difficulty settings because fighting is way too easy. Though TW3 is indeed a beautiful game it has been dissapppointing to me that this game was the downgraded. If CDPR was deciding a downgrade inernally there wouldn't be much of a problem. But they along with some other Publishers pushed the sales of the xbox one and ps4 back then and promoted something that was technically not even possible on those platforms. And a foul aftertaste was the implementation of HDR for consoles but not on PC. All in all it's a good game and due to the lack of something similar a must play I guess.

The best RPG since mass effect 2

Witcher 3 GOTY edition is simply the best modern RPG to exist on the market, it has tons of content with the expansions and delivers an epic experience that make this game one of the best in it's genre. You have a great cast of characters and interesting NPC's that aren't generic cookie cutter people who exist in many other RPG's today, you want to find out more about them and won't skip the dialogue because it's actually interesting to listen to them, they blend well with the world itself and add to the story. Graphics are fantastic especially with the next gen updates which bring ray tracing and updated textures and models with some nice additions to the gameplay as well. Gameplay is fun and there are tons of quests to complete.

Bland if seen as an RPG

This game felt like a great action adventure game. It's RPG elements were very streamlined though, to the point where leveling up lost much of its value.

Worth The money

When Witcher 3 Came out I didn't have the money to buy the game. Then I saw CDPR Seeding Torrents Themselves. I got the Cracked version. Trust me Every moment I was in Game I was lost in The World of Witcher. I haven't Played Such a Great game in Ages. Finally something to Give me the feeling of how a Good quality Game should be.I decided When ever I have the money to buy the game. I will pay for it. CDPR Deserves that much respect.Now I have the money to buy it.I hope Who ever played Cracked version will pay up too.It's Worth Every single penny.I hope To get such great games from CDPR in the Future.

Severe Flaws that CRUSH immersion.

First of all, I want to start by saying that I highly respect CD Projekt Red for making such an excellent game and choosing to be better than most (maybe even all) other video game developers and publishers. Second, I want to say that I highly recommend this game to other people because It's the best game I have played in years, and that says ALOT coming from me. But this game is not without it's flaws, and those flaws to me, have ruined my first experience with the game. Most glaring issues that severely negatively impacted my game-play experience and shattered the immersion for me are as follows: 1. Stiff movement-unresponsive controls.It's always there, always a part of the game-play experience. You can never escape it and you will constantly find yourself grunting in frustration like a kid trying to learn how to tie their shoe laces and failing, except you never learn and it never gets better. Enemies have this strange ability to interrupt your control/keyboard inputs BEFORE THEY ATTACK YOU and then attack you when you "didn't do anything". You will be smashing your keyboard wondering why you didn't do an action and died. 2. Objective Tracking-CRITICALLY important missions.Some missions just never trigger or are considered "failed" HOURS or DAYS in real time later with no hints or clues because you didn't do what an NPC wanted you to do the WAY they wanted you to do it. You DID it, they're just grumpy. enjoy missing loads of missions "just because" and finding out hours later unable or unwilling to lose metric-TONS of progress and go back and redo several hours of missions all over again. The story is where this game shines, but you will miss out on the story because of issues like this. It seems the only way to really do everything the game has to offer is to just run around the entire game saying "Yes" to every NPC and make everyone happy even if you disagree with it or spoil it by reading a comprehensive game guide from the start of your first play-through.
