Let us get one thing clear right off the bat, the game is not perfect. The main thing I can think of is probably the combat, which is fine once you get used to it, but it takes a few rounds in the tutorial before you get the hang of it somewhat. The signs are also a bit less exciting than in the last one, but overall the game is good. The Witcher Geralt has been accused of a crime he didn't commit and has to go out there, get revenge and clear his name, and who knows, maybe he learns something about friendship along the way. The story and gameplay itself is more enjoyable in this game than in the previous one, and the game looks gorgeous, especially considering how old it is. In this game you team up with old and new friends in order to clear your name after you've been accused of assassinating the King. It's an overall good story, with a lot of grey choices without any clear indication of right and wrong. And the game will be a blast from start to finish, a somewhat unforgiving and at times diffucult blast, but I digress. The story also seems more focused than in the last game. One downside though is that there really isn't any endgame gear, I got my swords at a fairly low level and never replaced them because I never found anything better.

Geralt is back in action, this time even hotter since the combat has been upgraded from the MMO-style that was The Witcher 1, to a more Batman: Arkham Asylum-ish style of gameplay. Combat is lightning fast, requires deadly reflexes and timing, like a true Witcher! And Geralt has almost even more toys than the Batman himself! Although l preferred The Witcher 1 over this sequel (much more focus on monster-hunting than politics), this is still a damn good game! The story is incredibly complex and intriguing as Geralt from the start is wrongfully accused as a kingslayer. A LOT(!) of different factions are sprung into action as The Northern Realms plunges into panic due to the murderes of two kings, and Geralt is right in the center of it. All decision from here on will determine the future of the world, the safety of his friends, and Geralts own discovery of his forgotten past. The first time l played The Witcher 1 l was intrigued from the start. This game was like no ordinary RPG. There was no longer any arms-race for better swords and armors, your greatest weapons was your knowledge about monsters and alchemy. Hard-earned coin was spent for books and ingredients rather than magical blades and chestplates. All this was however changed in The Witcher 2 as it introduced a decent crafting system, and now l have Geralt scavenge for different materials like some common bum. Even the monsters, and the importance of learning the beasts weaknesses, took a dike in this installment. There are very few different kinds of monsters in this game (compared to The Witcher 1) and most of the time you are fighting a smaller group of humans. Very few of the monsters who exist in this game has apparent weaknesses, so monster-knowledge has taken a huge dive in this game. However! Signs are now much more useful, and combat against humans has a lot of layers to it since they charge you with shields, annoy you with crossbows, and try to surround you. A definite must for any RPG-fan.

i love this game it is vast and entertaining . cant believe all these missions and characters are in 1 game WOW !!!! the normal difficulty level is slightly harder it should have been a little easier bought this game when it was on sale on GOG another plus point and its DRM free thanks for that the final fight with the dragon is also very good. special thanks to the makers of this game

This is no rating of the game itself! Just wanted to warn people who try to run TW2 on XP: At least one data file (pack0.dzip) is >4GB when trying to install, hence FAT32 incompatible. My thanks to GOG for not mentioning... Anyhow, you won't need a NTFS-formatted HDD in order to download and storage the game, it has been splitted into 1,5 GB .bin data files.
