Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive

I have completed this game once. Played the hero and got the girl. Excied to see other possible endings. I do recommend entertainment mode, after playing gamer mode. The game has some easy and some diabolical puzzles and there doesn't really seem to get harder as the game goes on. They seem to throw in hard puzzles in the middle and some easy ones near at the end, and finish with a diabolical one. The story is immaculate a lot of fun cut scenes with full acting movie scense with some amazing gets. I played this game and Under a Killing Moon. Midge from the 70's show in the cut scense of this game and James Earl Jones doing voice acting in UaKM. If I can ever get the video and audio to work for Overseer I am excited to play that game as well. I played Overseer and UaKM back near release on CDs. I did not play Pandora Directive before now. You are welcome to play them out of order as you like. They will reference previous games but not playing the previous games will not detract from the sequels.

Yes, I kept a computer from about 1997 to play games like this .... Dos Box is such a breakthrough to threaten my using my old computer, and thanks to GOG also ... but ... weird to use the old one and swap the disks but I did recently and it doesn't bug me much like before. Anyway. The game itself is incredibly underrated, including by gamespot, where they think you have to shoot and kill everything. UAKM was outstanding as well; I got two free copies of it at the time from Computer Sports Network for winning some online golf tournaments. (Was that intended for me as a pun by Access, about the agent who already had been to the place off planet for the pure only but got killed ... when Tex finds a golf software game in a safe). Remember to rerun the alien surgery scene over and over to get 20 points each time, to raise your score. ;) Dr. Lomax

Excellently penned and directed. It's difficult to break away from. It's one of those games that has you dreaming about it as you sleep. It's so very entertaining and a good check of your morality as well with the different outcomes based on how you play the game. PBK

One of the best games I have ever played... I got it when I was a kid and yet the story still intrigues me. I could play this again and again and never be bored. It STILL gives me the creeps!!
