This could be a fun casual game...

It really absolutely isnt. I dont remember if i paid or not for this... i hope i didnt. It's shockingly frustrating. the UI is something off a macromedia era p* game. And it functions like one. half of the important, need to know info (optimal wine blends, which upgrade should be taken first and where/how to get it) are only available online. The assets and ui both look like they're off a free pack from unity store. It's a micromanaging game that runs on RNG (which should be a red flag tbh), where every single upgrade is massively overpriced and underwhelming.... and where Rnjesus is very, very hostile. if you like making 5 star wines from unripe grapes, never win a single award ever and struggle to stay afloat, it's great.

Cute little game ruined by RNG

Cool little wine sim game. Would of never of bought it if GOG didn't give it away. It has decent gameplay loop although you have to get lucky to not go bankrupt and lose. My first game I made a 5 star wine because of lucky RNG with lot of sunny days and a very good spawn to get ripeness up and reduce rot. Sold the wine for a nice profit and then went into bankruptcy followed by 3 seasons of bad rotten harvest. This was on the normal diffuculty. RNG decides your fate and I don't have the patience for that. That being said I wouldn't advise anyone on actually buying the game, I doubt the devs will give any future updates to this game. Get it for free or holdout until someone else makes a better wine sim game.

Good management game.

Fun and unique management game about wine. It is a bit light on content and feels unfinished at times. It's missing certain shortcuts, like Esc bringing up the Menu. Would love a quick save/load feature, maybe have it disable for an expert mode.

Great idea and not a bad gameplay loop

But some crazy things in the implementation that leave a sour taste in the mouth, such as the day and night cycle. The night is SO dark, pitch black almost, so you can't see or enjoy any of the lovely asthetics in this game. This is a shame as some effort has been put into the design-style and there's cosmetic upgrades to earn for your vineyard, which you can't enjoy because 50% of the time the screen is blacked out. You've just got to wonder what inspired these decisions. The gameplay and structure is pretty good, it feels like a very simplified Restaurant Empire game which works in its favour for me. Unfortunately, there are just too many little errors. The ESC key is signposted as the button to bring up the menu - it doesn't. The day and night cycle, as I mentioned, is baffling. It's a little obtuse at times, but that's a standard for the genre. And there's mechanics in there that I didn't even know existed, I'm only seeing them now because other reviewers who have googled the game have pointed them out. That's bad too. If they iron all this out, Terroir 2 will be a superb strategy game. And even if it isn't, I will probably buy it out of curiosity. This is a worthwhile game.
