Headsup, new update adds microstutter, to revert back to previous version, click the More button next to play. then select manage then select configure. Click the previous version and your game will revert back. Removes microstutter entirely.
Also install Reshade it actually works and the game looks completely different.
This game has some of the best level designs, maze like, and the art style is outstanding.
If you stopped by and thought "Ah theses screenshots look like DOOM !", you would be wrong, this game is the opposite of Doom and Quake, you don't run everywhere, dashing, shooting every monster no. This is a psychological dungeon crawler, you walk along corridors, praying for a safe encounter, this is a game where you have to think before heading toward the danger.
I am currently playing it, didn't finished the story yet but it's already my favorite Narrative shooter if I can call it like that. System Shock built all the basics every First Person RPG's successors followed after it:
Narration by logs, ambience, mapping, competences and inventory. Everything is here long before Half-Life, Bioshock, Prey, Dishonored.
My only regret with this game is that I didn't discovered it 31 years ago...
But it's never too late to dive into this Enhanced Edition.
I still have to warn you, you will feel different after this experience.

I remember this game as a kid this game is one of the most challangeing Sci Fi first person shooter games i have ever played the graphics were ahead of its time when i was a kid the artwork the features the textures the audio everything that really made this game stand out its a game that has a fasinatic storyline the gameplay is incredable the first mission is beautiful the puzzles the challanges it will make u think and focus and u must have stratagy in your attcks thats what i did its a real exciting game that everyone should check out at least once its very entertaning thats a promise its very life like the enemeys i really enjoy this game all the time
System Shock is about great atmosphere and exploration of space station citadel sci-fi dungeon.
System Shock can be enjoyed also in story mode by setting combat and cyber difficulty to one or simply to zero. Then nobody is shooting at you and it is just exploration, adventure, puzzles and story.
I just finished GOG enhanced version. The enhanced version has better graphics and mouse control over the original version. It took me about one month of casual game play without a game guide. My actual play time was 18 hours with score 1,251,535 but I got stuck for 2 or 3 hours many times. When I got stuck I did not know what to do next or I could not find some hidden button so I stopped playing and returned to it week later.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
