Drastic changes and engine changes.

The demo version of 2020 is very different from the version of 2016, the most striking changes are color correction, physics and animation. And the changes are not significant, the blows became almost instantaneous, without a long animation and because of this they are not felt, the enemies do not react to the blows and immediately fall to the floor at death. It feels like the game has become faster and less responsive. But in addition to minor disadvantages that can be fixed without difficulties, the demo version has a significant map, a chic atmosphere, sound and new opponents. So far, this is still the same System Shock and all the problems can be attributed to the problems of the alpha version. I believe that the developers will be able to bring the project to mind and show modern gamers what a masterpiece was lost in the back of time…

hyped, but hoping for better performance

It's a pretty faithful remake of the original. The animations for inplants or some new equipment aren't really that annoying or common, so it's still just you playing with Shodan on the Citadel station. I think the visuals are pretty fitting at the moment, they're vary unusual, colorful, and interesting. The puzzles might get a bit annoying now, because of the controls. They don't appear in a pop up window that you can hover over with the cursor, but are actually present in the world. Some people might like that, it looks a bit better, and the wire puzzle is much easier now... not sure, if there gonna be puzzle difficulty options as were in the original. Overall I really enjoyed it, and I am definitely hyped now. Just hope they're gonna drastically improve opimization, though. Most of the demo ran relatively fine, but it got really bad by the end. I wen't into these two rooms in Beta, and pretty much lost all the framerate... luckily I had the whole floor already cleared and wanted to head straight for the elevator where the demo ends. I'm so curious about seeing the other floors now, and a working cyberspace... and getting a laser sword and the movement augmentation. Gods...

It was great!

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I didn’t have any crashing issues. My frame rate was fine, and my computer is over five years old and nothing spectacular. I’m a huge fan of SS2 and this reminds me of a lot of the things that made that game possibly the best of all time.

Promising.

I like what I see. I don't like what I hear quite as much. It looks nice so far, and the mechanics feel pretty good. Framerate was fine, no crashes, no errors that I experienced. Excited to see how this turns out. The music has nothing on the original, though.

Rad

Pretty rad. Enemies a little stiff and their hair's physics are strange at times, but overall a great experience. Looking forward to the full release!
