Syndicate Wars™

...Not the original. Syndacate wars is basically a bigger version of the first installment, with new graphics, weapons and a story that continue the one from the expansion, giving extra dystopian vibes to this already astonishing game. However... the game is also... well, it is repetitive. Simple as that. It's not even boring. Just repetitive. the mission given propose just a bunch of objective that, in the long run, starts to blur, to the point that the game becomes a little stale. Still, totally worth playing, even more discounted!

i will never forget the day i bought this game....i was 15 and i found this game in the store among the cheap games section (for unknow reason). i pulled out the box and paid for the game thinking to myself what a good trade off for such game (around 15 dollars this days). i will never forget the fun i had with this game and it still give me the creeps to think about the glorious days i had with this game ! fast action with tons of destruction around made me feel sorry for the poor innocent civialians who got caught it the middle of the battles:) one of the best music and atmosphere ive seen in a game! easily earned the title " a masterpiece" in my opinion . im playing this days in the original syndicate because i want to play it from the start to the finish line and see what it has to offer (and when i say this days i mean to january 2017) and i can say i enjoy it BUT its way easier than syndicate wars and much slower so in general i can say that syndicate wars much better in every aspect of the game the only thing i would love to see in syndicate wars is a better resolution :) other than that im ready to play it again and again!

Great game! Exactly as I remembered. Yes, its a little blocky but I'm not talking Minecraft here. I very much enjoy the game and have already spent more than 20 game hours on this game. If you enjoyed Syndicate Wars in the past on the Amiga 500, PC or Playstation then you will definitely enjoy this game. It was well worth the money! :-)

Syndicate Wars pamiętam z lat 90' - wtedy pograć w nią mogłem jedynie u kolegi, więc z chęcią odświeżyłem wspomnienia. Gra bardzo ładnie się zestarzała - mimo, że pochodzi jeszcze z czasów DOS'a to graficznie prezentuje się fajnie - jest trochę pikseli tu i tak ale jak na wczesne 2D+3D sprzed czasów akceleratorów jest dobrze. A najlepszy w grze jest klimat, podkreślany przez muzykę i (nieliczne) odgłosy otoczenia- Syndicate Wars mógłbym chyba odpalać dla samego klimatu:) Z rzeczy, które postarzały się gorzej to na pewno sterowanie - na szczęście da się re-definiować ale nawet po zmianach na dobrze znane WSAD jest dziwnie. Gra łatwa nie jest (nie ma możliwości zrobienia save'a w trakcie misji) a na dodatek dają o sobie znać błędy - niestety po wystąpieniu niektórych misje trzeba restartować nie ze swojej winy. Np. jeśli używamy myszy do przewijania ekranu to prędzej czy później zdarzy się, że wyjedziemy mocno poza ekran a kursor zwariuje nieustannie przewijając ekran w lewo. Gdy to już wystąpi - grać się za bardzo nie da i czeka nas ponowne uruchomienie gry. Czasem też zdarzyło mi się, że samochód się zablokował kręcąc bączki i efektywnie blokują agentów w środku -ponownie, konieczny restart misji. Te błędy nie przydarzały się tylko mnie, bo na forum gog też raportowano podobne problemy już parę lat temy- niestety naprawy się nie doczekały. A szkoda, bo gdyby usunąć te błędy to nie byłoby się naprawdę do czego przyczepić - mam nadzieję, że ktoś z GOG podejmie się stworzenia poprawek:)

Be aware Mac users: The music doesn't work on the Mac versions of both Syndicate Wars and Dungeon Keeper Gold. SFX and Graphics are fine, but Music is not. As far as I can tell there are no solutions to this on the game forums here on GOG.com, so I used the Windows versions via Crossover. In Dungeon Keeper's case this solved everything, but in the case of Syndicate Wars, the music now works, but the screen will not go fullscreen, even when prompted to do so, and plays in a window about the quarter of the full size. Don't get me wrong, I deeply appreciate GOG for uploading these classics and making them accessible to Mac Users, but for me the music is an integral, nostalgic part of these games, so I cannot rate this review any higher than I have done. If anyone has overcome this issue, please let me know. Thanks.
