Worth it for free but...

I got this game for free so I cannot complain, for a free game it's enjoyable, hence the three stars. However, it wasn't particularly special. The art and sounds are really nice. I really liked the art in particular. The story doesn't have much depth and some things are left unexplained. The gameplay ... a frustraing clicker. Once you figure out the right rhythm to obtain resources, it's just a dull "make characters collect stuff" game with random damages occurring to your spaceship so it drags on and on. You need parts to leave, but you also need parts to repair the spaceship so of course thing will break right when you're about to get the right number of parts. Things sometimes break again right after you repair them (talking about one in-game hour later) . Some things you can just not repair and do without. Sometimes characters get stuck. You need parts to upgrade your storage too, otherwise you cannot collect enough pieces to fix the machines to begin with. The characters do start with different abilities, which was cool, but they also can learn many of the other abilities with time, so in the end the difference among them is subtle. You start with random characters, but given their learning curve that really only affects the first few in-game days. The tutorial doesn't really explain much. Not sure about the survival mode, but I finished the story mode in around 5 hours (including restarting from scratch once cos one character died and I'm a completionist lol)

enjoyed, finished, don't need to replay

Full disclosure: I got the game for free. I don't think I would pay full price for it, tbh. It's a tough game and I enjoyed playing it. After about 20 hours, I beat it with 4/5 characters still alive. I don't feel like I want to go back and improve upon that. There's a story, but because the game doesn't pause in any way so you can read the things, you just end up ignoring it. I was disappointed that you couldn't click on the " feels bad" messages to locate them, and that there wasn't some way of preventing them from stupidly going out with low health.

Simple Space Survival Simulator

I got it for Free. Played it till I finished it on "easy" and uninstalled it. Like it a lot. Difficulty settings explained: Be Brave - easy; Try Harder - harder than easy Looking for a niche Survival in a Space setting? This is the game for you! The simple resource management mechanics will have you trying to look at both sides of the screen at the same time while desperately trying to keep everyone alive. It's easier said then done but the achievement of finishing it is incredible. The story is ambitious but the ending is only ok-ish. Few hours of fun, give it a spin.

Lost potential or was expect too much?

Well, as player who prefers post apo and similar games was an enoying subject of the game. And this is only one pro. The first main problem was raping my space button. I do not mean doing this for planing the next steps in game - thats strategy. But to know the whole plot this is the first time when I needed to do that (if get quite lucky cus sometimes two seconds after text disappear, lol). So by the way you know a second thing - you will not know everything about world. And last but not least... time. About 3 hours takes to make campaign on "normal" difficulty. Not so long, innit? Ok - the industry needs games like that. But not for £9 at a standard price. Game devs: please do something with presenting the plot and drop the price by half. Or do more content.

Too simple, too slow, too pretentious

So you have to gather materials to repair your ship and for basic survival purposes. You do the things and you win. There's supposed to be some drama in the (mostly) inner monologues the characters are having. One is, I think, at some point hearing voices but it's entirely lost because it's all done in the same speech bubble. And while we're on speech bubbles: occasionally the text will be longer than fits in the bubble. Developers didn't care. I got the same excitement as when I read scenarios in math problems. Let me break down the selling points in the description: - Base micro-management in extremely hostile conditions + Do the things, you win. Occupational therapy. - Randomly assigned crew members with different skills and stories in each gameplay + You can train anyone another skill - Different needs to satisfy: nutrition, physical condition and mental health + Mental health? Didn't notice that at all. Eat and heal, done. - Non-obvious sci-fi plot + Read: pretentious - Ominous presence of the Symmetrical World + No idea - Moral choices – collectivism vs individualism + Also no clue - Unique vector graphics and ambient sound setting + Hah, play Another World. Same graphics, same setting even, awesome game. Hardly any music but that's also lacking here. - High replay-ability and various strategies to beat the game + No - Survival game mode unlocked once the main mission is accomplished + Couldn't be arsed to check it out So you do the things, the heaters and fridge take turns breaking down which is just tedious, nothing else. You get some bla bla at the end when you've collected enough crap and it's over. Don't waste your time. You can have more fun with Another World as I mentioned. Of course, that's an action game, but it requires the same amount of "strategy".
