Only the best RTS ever made
The giant battles, user interface and epic scale make it the best RTS I've ever played. Campaign is good but the magic is in the multiplayer, I spent hundreds of hours on GPGNet back in the day and while that is no longer available there is a community created multiplayer scene that's still active called Forged Alliance Forever.

One of the best grand RTS games
SupCom: FA is one of, if not the best, grand real-time strategy games in existance. It looks great, has unique factions (albeit mostly in visuals, rather than function) and has extremely compelling gameplay. SupCom without the expansion suffers from some exploits and greatly rewards turtling strategies. The economy rework rebalance made in Forged Alliance really allowed the game to truly shine and makes fighting over resources an actual fight, instead of just securing a few mass points and then turtling your way to experimentals (super units). The physically modeled shots add great fun and variety to the battlefield, where the lay of the land actually matters. Tanks can't fire over crests for instance, so placing your armies correctly can help sway the battle. I've even seen long-distance artillery shells accidentally down aircraft! That's how deep the simulation goes. The AI is not the greatest, but can be modded to make for a real challenge even on non-cheating levels. If multiplayer is your jam, Forged Alliance Forever (FAF) is a portal used by thousands of players the world over to fight for fun or competitive ladders STILL to this day. That's how good this game is. You would do yourself a HUGE disservice not getting this game if you have any interest in RTS games. I don't own it on GoG because I still own the real box, so I don't need it on GoG, or it would be an instant purchase. GET IT!

Here at long last
If you love RTS games... you need to pick this up. Be warned though.. this is not for the faint of heart. Playing against friends (over LAN.. but there are plenty of tools out there that can create a LAN connection over the internet.. Like hamachi (which is free for small groups of people) there is an idea for Gog to implement? LAN game over internet.. anyway..) The game AI isn't the best.. but if you can find it.. download Sorian AI, and install it. The AI will be significantly better. So much so that even joint battles with humans against AI will be a challenge. There are two of them, one for each game. Sorian/Jaws (for supreme commander 1) and Sorian AI (for supreme commander forged alliance) The game looks, and plays quite well, especially for its age. But getting back to the faint of heart part.. matches can take several hours. So if you play against other people.. be prepared to stock up on those drinks.. you'll be pulling the long hours for this one. Matches are across enourmous maps, and travelling across those vast distances takes time. So you will really need to work up those greys, because you can forget about quick matches here.. You will need to think hard about what your opponent is planning. This is grand theatre warfare, not Starcraft..

On of the best RTS games ever!
This game is truly epic. I played this game when it originally came out, and have played it over and over again, never getting bored of replaying levels with different tactics. There is no cap on units (you can just automate unit creation - epic), and levels are HUGE. You can zoom right out to see all your units. It's such a pity this team is not making this anymore, or remastering this... saying that, this holds up perfectly in 2022. I use 2 monitors - one for the close up gameplay, and one for zooming in on other parts of the map to control other fights. Do yourself a favour, and play one of the best RTS games ever made to date! There is nothing else like this game anymore

ONE OF THE BEST RTS GAMES EVER MADE!!!
Don't own it on GOG (yet) but I have many hundreds of hours spread across multiple platforms. Its amazing with the LOUD mod. Which makes the AI much better and also drastically improves cpu performance. And while I don't personally play PVP I love watching recaps of recent matches on YouTube. This is a game with no true successor, although planetary annihilation tried admirably, and a community that has never stopped playing, improving and loving this gem of a game. If your even slightly interested in an amazing RTS that has countless hours of possible game play buy it, you wont be disappointed.
