A Classic For A Reason

Star Wars Battlefront 2 was released in 2005 having been developed by Pandemic Studios and published by Lucasarts as a direct movie tie-in for Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. And just like the first game that released a year prior and the infectiously fun Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, this game has truly stood the test of time. This is mainly due to the sheer modularity of the game itself. It gives the player a guided experience while still allowing for a ridiculous amount of second by second, minute by minute options. I have been playing this game since I was eleven years old. I'm twenty-seven now and I'm still playing it. That should tell you something. If you love Star Wars, or just love great games, pick this one up. You won't regret it.

Good Star Wars game - but with flaws

Battlefront II is a very competent Star Wars shooter allowing players to visit all major locations and iconic battles and fight it out for each faction in the Star Wars film universe. Since sounds and music are directly taken from official material, there are few other games who manage to capture a true Star Wars feeling quite like this one. Another huge selling point are the countless mods out there, that add new maps, modes, heroes and much more to the game. Unfotunately this game also has not aged very well in a few aspects, mainly the graphics and the somewhat janky engine. Another missed opportunity in my eyes is the campaign mode, which is not all that interesting and galactic conquest could have been so much more. Still, for the price its being offered, its still very fun to jump back into a classic.

Incredible experience

I don't know much about the online game play, but it doesn't seem like it's working that well, however! The solo campaign is a blast playing. You can choose between default (casual) and elite difficulty. And the elite is challenging and makes you find wacky ways to win. The mounts are incredible and their physics are just fantastic. Absolutely recommended!

Beautiful game

This is a very dear game to me, it's one of those games that doesn't try to be anything more than a game, something that I think it's very difficult to accomplish now a days, I have some wonderful memories about me playing this game with my father back when I was little, back then I didn't even had to worry about whether or not a game was bound to have split-screen, or a single player campaign for that matter. Two things which this game has. The Gog release it's amazing, allowing me to also finally get to play the game on PC, the Steam release of the game has this weird crashing issue that makes the game unplayable for me, there are a couple of fixes but none that really helped me, this so far it's been probably one of my greatest purchases from Gog, I thank them deeply to allow me to experience the wonderful memories that i have, about me, playing this game from the past. It's really, genuinely, a beautiful game at it's core, a game clearly made by a team with actual sincerity, intelligence, and passion. And I love that about it.
