Enjoying this so far!

Don't know why the negative reviews, it looks great on my system, and plays like any other title of this type and year! Having fun with just the original game, haven't even tried the next one yet. Yes, there's a lot of quests, a bit of getting used to the cameras and travel, but tell me a game that DOESN'T take getting used to the controls? It's not really rocket science here! Yes I got it during the recent sale, and yes it's worth the price! People must be spoiled not having to run around fetching things or killing for drops these days. Leveling so far is easy, once you notice the different areas for points, and really if you use ranged weapons first, it's not hard once you get that healing ability, you only get chased so far before they turn around!; Heal up, and go back in!! Played about an hour or two, and having fun! The way they spawn, you can easily level up before leaving the swamp! And TBH the controls are easier than Deus Ex, even with the revision installed! What's the complaint, other than pettiness?

THANKS YOU GOG !!

Finally this game is on GoG !!! its a great RPG game with a flexible skill system but also allows you to interact with your environment through quest and decisions. ( technology vs nature ) parts of the map will litteraly change based on what you chose. also, the companion system is great since you can always have someone to fight with but also it means that you dont always have to be a DPS. thats right, in this game you can be a healer main if you wish and not be front line either. you can stay back ,keep your party alive and let your companions do the DPS and tanking of pick what ever role and comp you want . you want a team with more than one healer ? all the fun for you ! pick you race, ( each got their own strenght and focuses ) then slowly develop your skill tree then finally , your alliance to either nature or technology. overall a great game ! not a perfect game since this game is quite buggy by time. and the click response can be a bit weird . but overall , a truly enjoyable game ! a HUGE thanks to GoG for finally having this game on here !

Very good action RPG

Before you start playing though, set your keyboard to English (Although the game is French ^^). To be on the safe side, back up all configuration files from the: "Silverfall\Data\Config\" folder first. When you try to change the controls, but you do not have the keyboard set to English, the keys you changed will be completely erased and you will not be able to restore them to their original settings. There is no default button. Just re-enter all the keys manually? The entire page for keys is cleared and you can't enter them manually. Apart from this mistake, the game is cool, even if the character sometimes gets stuck and the camera sometimes turns to the opposite side on its own. :) I would compare it to some kind of cross between Sacred series and Dragon Age in terms of control and functions. So if you are fan to those games, this one is right for you. Have fun! ^^

a so-so rpg game

A decent but simple rpg game that sadly is lacking in innovation, controls and fun. There isn't much to this game in character development nor the enemies you fight. You start on a safe island area in the middle of the wilderness, wandering outside you can encounter zombies, ghouls, some swamp creatures.. Do you want to be a warrior, archer, mage, your choice but really just finding a couple companions lets you run over anything you face. You can grab a healer/mage and they will keep you alive while you fight.. well, anything.. Fight a few zombies. heal up, go fight a couple more zombies..heal up, bla bla thats it? Yep, thats it. Youll encounter a couple different foes like goblins, some swamp fish, and go to this other cave, or dungeon area.. oh more zombies and ghouls.. and over here some more goblin creatures, up in this cave.. some more zombies and undead. Bla. very boring.. very quickly. And again, not difficult at all. Just make up a warrior and go in and slash. No tactics needed, no special skills needed.. Oh you can assign skills to double attacks, or some other stuff.. not needed just run in smack stuff with your weapon of choice, move onto the next 3 creatures, then 4 creatures here. Its pretty basic, pretty average, and still many things lacking such as maps of anything else other than the world map. In a cave, dungeon, what ever. nope no maps for you just figure it out lol. Many quests don't give indications on where to do them. Some do, many don't. Get it on sale, its worth the price, but it isn't a masterpiece or 5 stars like silly posters are throwing up. It isn't even close. it's average.

Mostly Solid, Enjoyable Game

This game is decent and there really aren't too many glitches. I did have the game crash on me a few times that seemed to be bunched together -- maybe it was when I was in certain areas. The gameplay takes a bit to get used to and is fun while you're learning and improving. It does get a bit monotonous and repetitive at times though. The story is ok, but not great (don't want to give out any spoilers). I personally found the crafting aspect to be pretty much useless and wish I had not spent any of my skill points in crafting as it would have let me level my magic, combat, and race skills more.
