Opis

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse succeeds by building a funny, gorgeous world around its tried and true Metroidvania gameplay. In the brief moments when the combat becomes exhausting, it’s the writing, in all its self-referential and juvenile glory, and its visual splendor that keep the pace going. Though it’s an unmistakable tribute to Metroid and Castlevania, infusing a sharp wit and bold style helps Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse stand above its retro-inspired contemporaries.

With this game, a cult favorite comes into its own. Shantae has always been a passion project for WayForward, but this is the first time the series feels like it properly realizes the developer's ambition for it. A fun, funny, and pleasant substantial Metroid-alike boasting phenomenal old-school visuals and a refreshing sense of optimism, it's both an eShop standout and a great (though by no means final) conclusion to a slow-burning trilogy of games.

horrible level design
the level design is lazy and annoying. the game doesn't give any clue on what to do in any levels.i had to reffer to walkthroughs to make sense of what one is supposed to do in order to complete this game

Szokująco wciągająca
Nie sposób nie polubić głównej bohaterki, odważnej, empatycznej i nieco naiwnej pół dżinnki. Lekko mangowe, pełne humoru środowisko w stylu fantasy róznież mocno przyciąga. Trochę mi się przypominają Slayersi, nie wiem czy ktoś oglądał, po prostu mój klimat. Ode mnie max, mimo że nie lubię platformówek, a pod koniec skacząc po zamku dostawałem qrwicy, to jednak klimat , humor i główna bohaterka dały mi sporo zabawy. Polecam!

Good platformer
This is a fun platformer with some puzzles. It controls well, looks good, has a nice soundtrack and is overall a very solid game in every aspect. The only thing I didn't like enough to mention it, is that there is no option to turn off screenshake effects, and I personally hate those in any game.

Perfect game, until its the worst ever
90% of the game is just perfect. Fun gameplay, hard but fair, positively adorable characters, solid soundtrack... honestly, the vast vast majority of the game is great. And from a technical perspective it runs on a toaster, pauses automatically when you tab out and uses almost no resources from your PC. HOWEVER it lacks in two aspects: 1. There is no tutorial. You just kinda learn as you go. If you have any platformer experience, great. If you're like me and this is your first, there will be some 10-20 minutes of pain before you get the hang of it. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. 2. The final act is ridiculously hard. Getting to the boss requires something like 6-8 pixel perfect jumps in a row, and any failure gets you instakilled and back to the start. It is, quite frankly, THE most bullshit phase i have ever seen in any game ever. This alone is the only reason this game isn't getting 5 stars.
