Still didn't manage to finish it

Have this game since its release, in the early 2000s , and never managed to finish it , despite going back to it every once in a while. The game is a kinda 'long' JRPG made by western devs. I say 'long' because the 'lenght' is basically backtracking and doing the same fights multiple times. Overall i do appreciate the game and remember good times with it and its story ( sort of original, at least at the time ) but cannot deny the fact it can get tedious.. i think it's more about the genre than the game itself though.

Decent RPG

Never heard of this game until recently, bought it on sale and ended up liking this gem. It runs fine for me on a 2018 laptop with Windows 10. It does need a bit of tweaking though. For me, I had to change compatibility settings to Windows 7 and check off run in 640x480 resolution. The game opens with the window weirdly otherwise. I didn't need to download any patches because of this. Apparently this game was made as a way to cash in on Final Fantasy 7 success. If you like those types of games, this should be right up your alley. It was for me.

Not for spellcasters

If you, like me, like to play magic users, Septerra Core is not the game for you. Magic and special abilities are fueled by "core energy", that is very expensive and scarse in the game. The combats are very repetitive, too, and if you leave an area, when you return (even if is a second later), all the enemies respawn in the same locations. That can become VERY boring. That said, the story is very interesting and original. Pity the game is so unpolished...

The game that deserved better

I haven't looked over GoG's bug fixes but: Warning: the game is very buggy, this is one boss in the game you might actually be forced to use a cheat in order to beat due to his skill crashing the game. that aside... Review: This game is a solid, long, and epic rpg. (I sat down during my middle school years and played this for an entire summer and still didn't manage to finish it). The combat is challenging, the game takes thought, the characters are well written, the story is fun, and (imo most important) the world is fresh and interesting. I highly recommend playing this game because for all its technical flaws, the story and characters make it worth while to push through and enjoy the rest of the game.

Światotwórstwo na wysokim poziomie

Fantastyczna kreacja świata, wciągająca historia oraz ciekawe postaci. Pełne udźwiękowienie dialogów, które zostały dobrze odegrane. Na minus monotonny gameplay składający się głównie z czasochłonnych walk, które w większości są zbyt łatwe. Brak dziennika zadań (!), bez poradnika ani rusz.
