One of the best racing games to date

I still consider Screamer 2 one of the best racing games of all times. I am a huge NFS series fan but Screamer 2 holds a special place in my heart. Fantastically crafted tracks to race, heart pounding music and what was the most important thing for me, incredible car handling and probably the first game with realistic car suspension mechanics (watch replays and observe how tires behave in relation to the ground!). Even games released several years later felt like the car is made of a wooden log and granite wheels. But in S2, it feels so refined and realistic. It was always a real joy to observe perfect runs on replays. And there is one more important thing that i miss with the latest games. Split Screen Mode. You and your friend can race head to head on one computer. If you want to get the feel of proper racing games, you just have to buy this one. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Driving model requires some adapting but once you master it, it's a breathtaking racing experience.

One of the best arcade racing games

Screamer 1 was a great game, but i think Screamer 2 is the best of the series, even better that Screamer Rally. I played it in VGA resolution and was excellent, much better than the Ridge Racer of the PSX console. In fact, nowdays you can play it and it is very vey fun.

One of the best.. even today

i bough that game way back when it came out. And even today that game hold a dear place in my heart beside NFS:Porsche. Ok, the grafic and the music is a little outdated, but it still has a core of gold. No rubberbanding KI, no driving "on rails", no nitrobullshit and pretty good tracks. And a good sense of speed. You have a couple of cars, everyone have another driving style. You got an fake Porsche as "tail slinger", very nervous in corners and not so fast.. but extrem fun to drive. Or if you don´t like that style you can pick for example an fake japanese car, which is more stable. It depends on you. The KI is merciless on harder difficulties. When you make an mistake, they don´t wait for you. You pretty much must master the tracks to beat the others in the tournaments. But it ist never unfair, when you fail you know exacly why. You must unlock tracks in these tournaments, as far is i remember you can select all the cars from the beginning. Tracks are in differents regions. Desert, snow, green hills, mountians, cities, everything is there. So if you want a good challenge give that game a change.

Masterpiece of arcade racing

This game simply has not been surpassed to this very day! You have to try it, first time I played it back in 1996 I was blown away-something that no other racing game managed to do since!

The best Screamer

Finishing S1 was rather easy, it plays like Outrun with improved graphics but the driving feel in that game is still an arcade one. S2 is different: the driving feel is the best I've ever experienced (I didn't play modern driving games though), and it's been for long the only driving race that kept me interested in and that maybe one day I'll finish (didn't manage yet).
