Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves

The game has great atmosphere and nice gameplay. However, like its blocky graphics, it is brought down somewhat by its general clunkiness. Explanations and dialogue are flat and slow; controls are somewhat unresponsive. The combat and main game itself goes on a quite faster pace than expected, but everything in between is boring and slow.

This is a very fun game. There is a strategy element where you set hazards and traps before you begin a wave. Then it becomes a third person action mode that also has RPG elements with skill tree, items, etc. Are the cut scenes AAA, no. Is the voice acting AAA, no. But for a game I got for free, it is excellent. I keep coming back to it and I don't say that for very many free games lately.

The game has it´s share of good ideas, but ultimately falls flat with a bland story and a very rough-around-the-edges gameplay.

the only thing i find to be worth experiencing is the immersive atmosphere of the menus. audio and visual. the general idea seems ok, but its not well laid out. thats balance, progression, combat mechanics, slugish performance, scripted(repetitive), mission layout i lost interest on the 6th mission.

The mix between tower defence and FPS is fun and well-balanced. And playing a canadian lumberjack in the 18th century, fighting werwolves ? That's the best setting i've seen for ages.
