RollerCoaster Tycoon® Deluxe

This was one of the first games I ever played on PC that originally got me into sims in general, at the time I was also playing SimCity 2000. RTC and RTC 2, personally are some of the timeless classic games that I would pass on to my children, for endless hours of entertainment, strategy and challenge. All of those things the RTC franchise does exceptionally well, better than some of the other tycoon games on the market. Nothing ever comes close to taking this game head-on...It would just loose. Also this game is a must have for any PC gamer, even though there are high tech games out, it's nice to take a step back and see what gaming is really about, and this game has helped show me that and should you too.

Roller Coaster Tycoon is an absolutely amazing piece of software. It was one of the first video games I ever played when I was a kid, and yes I know I'm not all that old, and this thing has aged extremely well. It's exactly as I remember it from all those years ago. I don't play that many simulation/strategy games, but RCT pulls me in and will not let go. I love it. And I'm pretty sure you will too.

I first played this game back when we had Windows 2000(Yeah, this game is extremely old), but like a lot of games I have played from that era, it not only has a nostalgic feeling, it also has an incredible amount of replay value. I was absolutely terrible at this game when I first started playing it while I was younger. Now however, I do extremely well and it makes me love it that much more that I can finally play it correctly. I greatly suggest you buy this game before you buy other RollerCoaster Tycoon games, not only because it is cheaper, but because it's the start of a great series and you will want to come back to it even after you beat it and play the newer versions. Even though it doesn't have the best graphics, it has great heart and ability. To agree with another post, The Original RollerCoaster Tycoon is one of the best games on GoG. Don't let yourself miss out on this game if you like building and trying to balance happiness and budgeting.

This game is a million times better than the crappy Theme Park. It is both funny, entertaining, interesting and enjoyable to play. Everything runs smoothly... and unlike modern games, this one was finished when it came out, there were few bugs... if not none at all!

I've never been too much of a PC gamer, RCT was the first that glued me hours and hours to the screen. Lovely graphic style with so many little details, impressive selection of rides and theming scenery, soooo many missions and only very little flaws at all. The original RCT is still one of the best Tycoon games ever and definitely a must have :3
